This is because people are idiots and think everything is a jizzer. When I had the blade some guy came up and asked if it was a gsxr600. My boyfriend had to keep me from strangling him

A mistake I might make because I don't know shit about bikes. But that's why I would ask "what kind is this?"

Been out of the country for a week, so I'm going to to try to catch up here a little bit.

    Happy belated birthday Rachel!

I never use my ATM card when I travel, just my AmEx. I've never had an issue getting locked in the states, but I typically give them a heads up when I go out of the country. There's no real bonus for me to use any of my debit cards, so I never use them as far as promotions/cashback/miles. I think I've used a debit card maybe 2-3x in my life.

    Looks purdy.

There's Freetown State Forest, which isn't ridiculously far from Plymouth (although it's not right around the corner either). I don't know how open/closed it is, but at least it will give you a wooded area to work with.

Last time I looked the turbo motors didn't blow HGs anymore than any other motor. The ones that I thought were bad were the earlier NA 2.5L motors.

That being said, if it's got a HG leak, I'd probably find a wrecked 06-07 WRX, swap the longblock into the Legacy for the time being to get it running, part the rest of the WRX and then tear into that Legacy motor and salvage what you could and build a beast. If he's been driving it as-is, I wouldn't trust that the heads aren't damaged.

I just got back from my week in Aruba. So much fun, and so much to see. We rented a Jeep for two days and explored the island, which is pretty much a desert outside of the resort area.

    IMG_1415_zpssz5ue5rz_565b5f501249a6036232254779a2f239281cc46c.jpg

The good/bad about renting a Jeep from a smaller non-chain rental place is the Jeeps are a bit more beat up, which is awesome because you can take them off-road (to places like the Natural Pools which are only accessible with 4WD) but also terrible because they are so beat up. Our Jeep had in-op power windows (which wasn't a huge deal since we had no top anyways), wonky outside temperature gauge (showed -33 deg C) and non-working driver's seatbelt, which was annoying as can be. Nothing is more fun than crawling over rocks going downhill with a super nervous wife and a seatbelt chime going off incessantly. I will give credit though, people who drive MT Jeeps need a gold star. Maybe it was just our Jeep, but the shifter/linkage was laughable. There was more lateral play in the shifter in-gear than my STi in neutral. Every other vehicle I've owned/driven when you're at 10 MPH you typically downshift into 2nd to turn into a street, the Jeep would buck unless you were in 3rd. The 5-6 upshift was nearly impossible to get right, I went into 4th more times than I want to admit. 6th was where I thought reverse should be; reverse was somewhere next to the passenger side outside door handle. If you had the RPM over 2,000 in 2nd or 3rd it sounded like you had open exhaust because of driveline noise, upshfiting gave you a nice metallic clicking, so take your pick.

I think Amy wanted to kill me a few times when I was driving around. Even with warnings it was a bit too bumpy for her liking. The Jeep has a feature that lets you start it without having the clutch in (like Toyota's clutch cancel, but without the switch) but I kept forgetting i wasn't in an AT and kept starting it in gear. That was fine, except when I was parked kinda close to a ledge. It wasn't a big deal, but she panicked, which I get.

I will give the Jeep credit. Despite it's flaws it was pretty much a tank going up and over everything I threw at it, which wasn't anything a stock 4wd truck wouldn't handle, but I'm sure it sees that level of abuse daily. I also kinda dug the turning radius due to the short wheelbase too.

It was so fun seeing all the cars/trucks we don't here in the US. I lost count of all the fun JDM cars/trucks. I saw every generation of Hilux from 84-on in pretty much every configuration you could think of. Saw tons of D21 crew cabs and 1st gen Frontiers (Navara?) in quad cab with the cool OEM backracks. Mitsubishi has a large presence on the island and saw quite a few Mighty Maxes and whatever the modern versions are. I loved the Ford Ranger they have that we don't get in the US and the Everest SUV. The cars were something else though, seeing shops with modded R33s sitting outside threw me for a loop. I didn't see any Supras this time like last time, but still, seeing Evo II/IIIs was a treat. What was interesting is that Mitsuibishi and Suzuki might have been the most common JDM brands, where as Honda didn't have that much of a presence.

I have to remember to never ask the wife to ride on the back of a jet ski with me again. I tried to give her a quick primer on how to ride with me and how if she isn't careful how she shifts her weight, it could be bad news. Yeah, she fell off and took me with her on a low speed turn. Luckily it didn't capsize the ski, which would have been a $300 fee. Dropped her back off and tore around for a bit. Felt bad that she didn't get to ride with me for the rest of the time, but I knew she was terrified and it wasn't any fun for me to idle around at less than 5 mph, so it was more or less the best for both of us. It's so much fun when you're standing up on the ski and the ski's completely out of the water though.

On factory bikes, it should tell you on the tail or just below the clip ons.

I'd like to point out that Boston's won a World Series more recently than NY has...

Not really. I don't care much about baseball; I'm more of a football kind of guy.
I used to play baseball in high school, but I've never enjoyed watching it that much. I lack the attention span required. Usually when the GF and I go to a Sea Dogs game we leave during the 7th inning stretch.

No matter who has won what and when, it's a simple and clear fact... Yankees suck!
