Looking at buying a first gen

Hey all I'm looking at buying a first gen. I needed something with 4wd and I wanted a manual so I think I came across a perfect match.

Stats:
Year 2002
ODO: 118,596
Color: White
Packages: TRD offroad, SR5
Engine 3.4 V6
Transmission: 5 speed manual.

Their asking $12,900.

That seems a little steep in price. Is that at a stealership? It's super clean but I wouldn't pay that much for it.

 

What would you suggest offering? Its a dodge stealership

 

Relatively low milage and it looks straight. Though even in California that would be pretty steep; price points should be lower where you are. If there are good service records, id say in the 9000-9500 range.

I was going to suggest walking in $9k cash and see what they say. Also don't be afraid to grab a truck with higher miles. I'm on my second 3.4 with over 200k and CAN'T be happier with it.

 

Agreed, cash talks. Also keep in mind there are sales taxes.

Frame rust is the big one, then worn leaf springs. Check the buyers guide stickied up top.

 

And don't be afraid to walk, it's not the only taco out there
