Clutch started slipping from the power of the turbo. Especially when running it hard. Looking at URD or LCE clutches. How aggressive should I go being a dd but wanting to hold 400ft lbs. I noticed the more "race" ones were sort of like star shaped instead of round.

6 puck clutches are always more performance based. They do drive different as well and can rattle when engaging. Not known for dd comfort driving. Mine is 6 puck ceramic and drives very different but I like it.

Clutch slipping?? It must have been on its last leg. I try not to give it too much gas until the clutch pedal is fully released

Yeah, I was power shifting it. It was original clutch and had 180k on it so a combination of old and turbo. It still holds but I can tell it's going to go sooner than later. Drove up into the mountains today. Turbo is unbelievable. Barely had to touch the pedal to flow with traffic and when I boosted it would go fast.....as fast as I cared to go safely. I mean it pulled!

Yeah even low boost on these trucks make such a rediculous difference. Are you still at 4 psi or did you get your meth injection all worked out? That's funny you say 180k because that's pretty much exactly when I needed to replace mine. There wasn't any slippage but that thing screamed like something out of a scary movie in the morning lol

I still don't get it. I go up to 4psi till about 3500rpm then it keeps climbing to 10 as I get to 4500rpm. It's still something with my ebc or the spring I ordered off eBay may not be right for my wg. I inject meth steady now with no leaks which drops afr's to 12, but as I go up to the 10 psi range so does the afr to about 15, and I get some hesitation at that point so I still can't crazy redline wot. I cut my boost electronically at that point to prevent engine damage. I just don't see why I can't tune it to just a certain psi? It still runs freaking crazy awesome. Once I get the computer, injectors, and fuel pump plus a good tune, this truck is going to be crazy fast....

I've kept up with a twin turbo BMW the other day and a Panamera today, as crazy as that sounds it's true. I'm sure it wasn't the turbo Panamera but to even hang with one? I mean, this is a more than decent 6cyl engine that is being forced induction, and the truck weighs like 4000lbs or something. I am no expert but shit its fast and Im enjoying it.

Have you tried completely bypassing the EBC and run the WG straight to the manifold/charge pipes? I ask because the only thing a EBC does is run your boost at or above the stock WG spring rate... so if there is an issue with the EBC, then there is a very good chance that your boost will exceed the stock spring rate. Bypassing the boost controller with tell you for sure if the problem is the spring or the BC

What do you mean by EBC?

    Comon Chris...do you even turbo???

    :D

EBCs work much more efficient then MBC because they can hold the WG closed longer and then dump it open more suddenly allowing boost to build faster vs the MBC that kinda lets the WG creep open.

I agree with Gio, something has to be wrong with the EBC. Especially if you don't have it set for 10psi which id hope you wouldn't at this stage of your build.

No way, that's why I put in the 4psi spring because I didn't want to go above 8. I might call innovative tomorrow to see what their recommendations are. It's definately an adjustment issue, and or, where I have it teed into maybe effecting the map sensor for it. After my last adjustment of the ebc the driving mannerisms improved drastically.

Your spring only sets the minimum boost. With a manual/electronic boost you can increase boost well beyond the spring. I think the EBC needs to be re adjusted.

This is a good idea to rule out the WG. A bad WG can blow an engine real quick.

It will make it super easy to find out what exactly isn't working right
