There usually is about a 3-4 thousand dollar difference in pricing between the US and Canada with it being higher here of course. However the Canadian dollar has fallen big time against the US greenback in the last year so I am figuring it may cost even more. Back in 2007 I believe there was around a 9 thousand dollar difference.

Do you happen to know what color red that was? The radiant red of years past or the barcelona red that they have on 2009-2015 Tacomas?

No, they just told me red. I was interested in the blue and they said it was the same blue that was used on the Yaris, the Blazing Blue.

JBL is not avaliable on the TRD sport. There is no package to add it. I really wanted it but could not get it as its not offered. They may changes things down the road, but for now its not offered, at least in Canada on the TRD Sport.

Does Navigation come standard on the TRD Sport ? Is it the same T3 Entune package that you can get as an upgrade on the SR5 ?

Just FYI all of the options on that leak means nothing to Canada. I've heard rumors from two Toyota sources, both IRL people not copy and pasts sources mind you, that Toyota Canada won't be carrying any configurations of the 2016 that didn't make it here in 2015. I hope it's not true. We've been screwed out of the DC with the OR package on it with ANY bed length up to this point. I'd also gather we may see some slightly different packages. In Canada the TRD Sport has included heated seats for at least 3 years when that wasn't even an option in the USA until the premium Sport came out IIRC, someone from the USA can confirm that. In either case, going back to my original comment, whatever the USA is getting means nothing for us.

Oh, and I agree with another poster who said Canadians might get shafted on the new price. Chevrolet just quietly raises there prices about $1K across there truck line. My fleet sheets at work for the newest orders now show that increase. I doubt Toyota Canada will miss the opportunity to raise the price $4K-$6K on the truck being sold into Canada to "harmonize" the market.

The West Region that was leaked has 0 monthly allotments of many configurations. They will be available somewhere else. How many regions are there is Canada? Or is it only one big region?

Canada doesn't have the regional ordering or in some cases different packages for different parts of the country. I know with the 4Runner that people weren't able to get the Trail Edition in certain regions of the States. So yes we only have 1 region.

If that is the case then Toyota may not be selling many trucks in Canada, a 9K spread is ridiculous.

In 2007 a ton of people started buying slightly used trucks out of the USA and it scared the price down. In Canada we always pay a larger numerical value for our vehicles but that's mostly because of the exchange and rarely because we are getting the shaft. Canadians get shafted way worse on markups for things like t shirts and other trendy consumer goods where some brands may double the price of goods im CAD even though the exchange rate isn't anywhere near that.

Keep in mind though if that 9k is truly all in the exchange rate of CAD to USD then it's not really a 9K difference, it's just a shitty exchange rate.

I hope they do not use the exchange rate to set prices in Canada because if they do the truck price will be insane. At todays rate of conversion the top of the line Limited long box with cover at $39325 US converted to Canadian dollars would be $50264. Plus shipping of course which in eastern Canada for 2015 where I live is $1720. I won't even mention our sales tax.

Back in 2007 the msrp for a truck here was right at 40k for the TRD Sport LB and they were selling at msrp or slightly below. The Canadian dollar shot up to near par and us Canucks started heading south to get our trucks. I flew to NH and got a 2008 TRD Sport LB in super white. The msrp was 31k and I picked it up for 28k and drove home feeling like I won the lotto. I traded it on a 2013 2 years ago and the msrp here had dropped to 37k at the time probably due to a better Canadian dollar at the time and the fact so many guys were buying south of the border.

MSRP on my wifes new Ford XLT XTR 4x4 was $51,500 before delivery. Now we managed to pay no where near that because those companies build a ton of room into their MSRP but Tacoma used to be priced right up against the lower tier models of the half tons. I think it's quite possible we see $50K for a limited. I made a post about this on the Canada BS forum. Two members, not me, commented they paid $43K CAD for their trucks in 2013. So ~$50K for a limited sounds like what we will see.

A dollar on par actually hurts Canada overall. When the dollar is around 80 cents we actually can pay workers here more and sell the goods to the USA for USD for less and still make money. I doubt we will see a dollar on par while oil prices is low and, other than how much it hurts to buy custom parts out of the USA, I actually prefer the lower dollar for business reasons.

    Hi Sterdog,

You are obviously on top of how the pricing works and seem to know what you are talking about.

Your latest assessment is a little depressing for me because I know that I for one will not be spending $50,000.00 cdn. on a new Limited or TRD Premium, that is just stupid, unless of course you are lucky enough to have money to burn.

Depending on what Toyota does I may be forced to look at the GMC Canyon to get some of the features I want in my next truck...
