Hey so I'm headed up to Pinecrest this week, rented a cabin nearby, gonna mostly be chillin, fishing, hiking around. Was wondering though, I'd anyone knows any good trails nearby, like within 30 min or so of pinecrest?

Ill be bringing my copy of NorCal back roads and 4x4 adventures, but just wanted to see if anyone had any personal recommendations. I'd like to get a little dirt under the tires while I'm up that way...

Seriously. And they went through the effort of getting it loose then left it there... Oh well I still have it and it's not noticeable so no harm no foul.

They were probably hoping to snag the entire manifold, I'm sure other cars aren't as much of a bitch to steal the antenna as ours >_<

So you just have it all loose in the car, or in a bag. Like a bug out bag?

    stuff
I can't remeber the names but I recall some 4x4 roads along the border of Emigrant Wilderness. Crabtree, Gianelli and Coyote Meadow are all trailheads to the wilderness I've done with lots o dirt road drivin to get to. I'll see if I can dig up my maps for the unmaintained/4x4 roads. It's all right by Pinecrest.

And I'm pretty sure Niagara Rim Trail is off 108 above Pinecrest

Car prepped for baby ride home, bag prepared for stay at hospital. Bug out bag is meant to grab as you're rushing from the house to fight zombies. Pre packed bag for planned emergency is just a pretty packed bag. Pow.

I've found a few random trails around Dodge Ridge that are real basic. There is one called Eagle Peak I believe. Another member took me up it but it was up 108 past Strawberry. I've been meaning to find some better trails but the wife just wants to sit at the beach all day rather than venturing around.

Thanks guys. ^ yeah I'm all for having a chill trip to the lake, but driving all that way without wheeling at all just seems wrong. Plus I'm meeting a buddy up there who has only mall crawled his beautiful DCLB that I helped him build. I've promised to drag his ass onto a trail one day!

Thanks for the suggestions, should be plenty to get me going.

    Did you say Horse power?
Could also be the car wash. They usually take mine off and then replace it when they hand dry...but they never tighten it down so I keep a wrench in the glove compartment.
