I'm googling the trail now. If it was for the following Sunday I would say yes for sure. I work that night the 19th so I don't want to commit.Might still go anyway haven't decided. I really want to break the ice and do my first off road trail run. Have you ever done this trail before? Also, I read you bought a radio,is that a cb radio or ham radio?

Drinking while navigating Clark's is a death wish -- don't do it. It's certainly 2wd friendly this time of year being dry and all but it's not for those fearing heights. With steep, narrow shelf cliffs it's gonna take concentration. The lake fire may or may not have caused it to be secured. I was going to call the ranger station this week to inquire. I'll be up there all weekend camping. Is there an approx. time you all are meeting at the trailhead or just gonna wing it since you all will be grabbing bfast?

Andy: thanks for the video of Clark's Summit Trail. Looks 2wd friendly for sure.

goblue82: I'm pretty sure, although not positive, that the secured trails are all on the south side of 38

ODNAREM: let us know asap about the 19th. If it's a no-go, then maybe we delay until the 26th, and that way lexxxo13 could go

mpatrick, goblue82, and Dropitmore: are you guys ok with both possible dates, the 19th and the 26th?

If delaying until the 26th meant that all six of us could go, I say we do it. Lemme know guys. This trail looks beautiful!

Oh yeah...I did buy a HAM radio, and I have no idea what to do with it. That said, if 2 or more of us had coms, that would be good.

I'm in for the 26 th. if not 50/50 chance I'll make it on the 19th. I'll play it by ear.
Also, I have a cb radio already on my work truck. Radio communication would be good . What radio did you get? I'll pick one up if there not to pricey

It's starting to look like the 26th might be the way to go. Mason you OK with the 26th?
I'm totally fine with wives, GFs, partners, whatever.
I bought a Baofeng UV-5RV2+ on Amazon for like $35. No idea how it works. Be sure to get the cable that hooks it up to your computer so that you can load stations, apparently.
