Okay so I have a 2015 Tacoma DCLB SR5. I'm talking with a local company about the Old Man Emu 2-3" lift kid with Full Dakar Leaf Spring pack. Right now we're talking about $1,900 even to get it done (shipped, installed, aligned). I've no question on what lift I'm doing so I'm not asking for other options at this point.

Originally I had no plans on an ARB Bumper or anything heavy. However - I'm wondering if I should keep things open for the future. I currently don't do off-road trips (but would like to some day!). The lift for now is mainly about looks to be honest... but should I go camping/hunting I'd appreciate the added ground clearance (especially since I'm a DCLB).

I'm considering a skid plate at some point. And if I get into off-road travels at some point under armor to protect the bottom would be important.

Knowing the budget doesn't allow all those upgrades now should I go Light Coils or Heavy Coils?

Heavy coils will make a stiffer ride - this I know. Just wondering everyone's thoughts that has already done such a lift!

EDIT - After much input from others, research, and mental acrobatics I've ordered my OME Lift with 887's and Light Racing UCA's from Headstrong Off Road. I'm estimating an install date of July 31st with my local custom shop. Will share photos and results once it's done!

I wouldn't do the heavy unless you're going to be adding those things pretty soon. You can change the coils themselves out when you get the weight on there at a later time. I have a plate bumper and I'm still running the 885's.

Yep , more and more people are using them . They are actually designed for 4Runners IIRC , same spring rate as 884's and 885's just taller than both

I just did a OME lift with 887's up front. Couldn't be happier.

So same feel but more lift basically then?

I'm asking my local guy about them. Been emailing him all day.

Just finished my lift one my 2015 DCSB. I installed the arb bumper first, and lost almost 2" in the front. After installing 886's it was a night and day difference. I feel the 886's with out the weight would be very uncomfortable.

I see you have the 2015, I do as well and had to grind my rear shock mounts to get the OME SHOCKS TO FIT.

A big thumbs up for HEADSTRONG OFF ROAD great customer service.

I had not even considered the 887's so never thought about UCA's.

Sent an email to my contact at Dark Horse Customs (http://www.darkhorsecustoms.com/). They are one of the shops here in town. They're the guys who did the work on the Tacoma for Expedition Overland as it turns out.

Anyhow, asking him about doing 887's and UCA's to get an idea on his thoughts and the cost to do such. I'm leaving town next week so if we work out a deal I probably won't get it done until last week of July at the earliest. But I'd need to figure it out so he can order in parts.

@OZ-T What are your thoughts on UCA's? I've heard about the Light Racing UCA's on these forums. Found them only for like $425 for the pair. Considering my current plan was online about $1,100 in parts that's a huge jump on my budget.

Headstrong has the cheapest price on OME that I could find. Plus they give you a discount on LR UCA (360.00 or some where close).

Okay. So I think I'm going light (was leaning that way anyhow). The question is whether to splurge for the 887s with the UCA upgrade or not. The extra height is appealing.
