So I finally got the letters installed on my grillcraft grill. So far I have had a mixed amount of responses from people that have seen it. Some say they really like it, and others do not like it so I would like to get the opinions from some of you on TW. Please let me know what you think. If you don't like it, no offense taken.

Personally I am not a fan of the oversized Tacoma branding on the mesh grills. But my opinion or anyone else does not matter. It is your truck, your money, and a representation of your taste. If you like it, then rock the custom grill.

Personally I have seen a better looking (imo) font used for the lettering. Other than that I looks great.

I'm putting a similar grille on my prerunner. It doesn't have color matched anything, so I was thinking about dipping the grille surround to get it as close to the grey/black plastic. Did you dip yours?

image.jpg Color match the grill & plastidip or paint the letters black would look good IMO. More subtle...
I built a similar grill on my old truck

I have a GrillCraft grill and have just chosen to leave it plain. It's important what you prefer your Tacoma to look like!I like the letters but wouldn't do it to my grill on my Tacoma.

Here is my grill I made myself. I couldn't begin to count the amount of times I have been asked where I got my grill. People are then confused when I tell them I made it myself. I went with "Tacoma" instead of "Toyota" because less people have the "Tacoma". Do what you like!

I originally got the BAMF letters and painted them with bedliner. On some trucks it looks good; just didn't match the look I was going for. I ended up with the LandCruiser Toyota emblem. In the end only you can decide.

How about trying to leave just a thin white strip all the way around each letter as an outline and blacking out the inside. I think that may look killer.

It may be easy to test it out on one letter with black duct tape or electrical tape, or even photoshop or MS paint.

in my honest opinion - the letters are slightly too large and I think they need to be black, but like others have mentioned it is your truck and you do what you want. It isn't about what others think and if you do everything based on what others think you won't be happy in the long run. I learned this the hard way.

Question for everyone though - how did you attach the letters to the mesh grille and what material are you using to make the letters from? I have been toying the idea of making mine own as well since I assume it is much cheaper than purchasing one, but wasn't sure how to approach it yet.

I used the 3m automotive decal/badging adhesive tape. Stuff is strong as shit. I'd definitely use it again.

I like it a lot. Easy to ID the vehicle if it's in the wrong place at the wrong time. :)

    Not enough...
    Eh. Definitely not a fan.

EDIT: I'm pretty OCD when it comes to font faces. Not only this one is out of proportion, it matches absolutely nothing else on the truck.
