Do we have a resident painter? I'm not trying to spend more then $65 to get the plastic surround of the grill color matched to the truck. The body shop today told me $150 I laughed and walked away. Considering when I looked up painted grills for the 12 (a couple years back) they were only $136. I've thought about painted the surround myself and found these:

    http://www.amazon.com/2009-2013-Toyota-Tacoma-Pyrite-Aerosol/dp/B009SEH1JC

has anyone tried them? you can youtube how to paint over the chrome grills. But I don't want to be one of those horror stories you hear about lol so if we have a resident painter that could help me out that'll be awesome! I'm hoping to have the @HomerTaco grill installed this coming weekend :) and would like to paint the surround before winter.

I tried color matching mine and effed it up on the last coat. So I threw on some truck bed liner. I'm happy with the results. i think i like this look more. I'm waiting for my insert from @HomerTaco as well. IMAG0278.jpg

Pretty much. Air and nitrogen (the two common alternatives) require a different type of tank. Both air and nitrogen when in tanks are compressed to around 3500 psi, and both remain in their gaseous state at that point. CO2 becomes a liquid at a much lower pressure. 1500 max in the tank I believe. The lower pressure liquid CO2 will yield a higher volume overall output than the higher pressure gas alternatives.

As for the connector, I'm not sure what it's called. It's pretty standard for welding gasses in bottles this size though. Not the standard co2 fitting on a paintball tank though. Similar, but larger

I used dupli-color when I did the front bumper, but I don't see your color. It is more important to get a good finish and clear coat than it is to perfectly match the color. Take your time, and a cheap trick is to use some furnace filters on old box fans to build a temp paint booth.

Not sure if you guys use 550 cord a lot or not but I found a website to order from. They have almost every color under the sun, they have free shipping, no tax since they are in ND, and very good pricing. 1000 ft spool for $47.99 I'm woodland right now. Plus there's a 15% off coupon out on Google. I think it was like QR15. I just ordered a 1000ft spool of multicam for my interior and it's already shipped.

If your looking for light weight and extremely strong cordage at a good price check out Dutchwaregear.com and get either lash it or zing it in dyneema. It's SUPER lightweight.

Another handy tool is LoopAlien. They work incredibly well and are extremely fast to adjust.

Ah, didnt realize thats how that worked, as i work at a scuba shop and could fill it with air from our cascade for ya, but sounds like that wont work.

that would be @ClayCrusher, he does recover ropes and the like, so i would imagine he has some nice splicing skills.

Also, any idea how the dyneema holds up to long term repeated immersion in fresh and salt water? sounds like a good product i can use for the lashings on my scuba gear if it holds up.
