I bet it will be and better than the Colorado. There is a niche market for midsize trucks and the manufacturers know it. I owned one, though the mileage was amazing from a full size, the tranny shifted funny and the build quality had me questioning longevity, missed my Tacoma and rectified my poor choice by going back to my 2015.

    Too few to list.
Didn't pay attention to your gif sig. Now that I did, totally made me laugh. That's why I bought a 15 just two days ago.

MPG on full size trucks has come an incredible way. Especially considering how much heavier trucks are now than they were back in the 80's and before. Less efficiency progress with mid-size trucks, because they want you to buy a more profitable full-size if possible.

Agreed, that and all the fancy features (lonestar edition) lured me away, in the end I just realized it was too much truck for me, didn't really care for the front end and not a GM guy by any means, so took a hit on the trade 6 months later back into a taco, and I am exactly the kind of buyer manufacturers know they have for selling less efficient, high price midsize trucks to. My 2015 taco was only 2k less than my Silverado after rebates, both new at purchase.

Biggest disappointment with the midsize market is the dismal fuel economy, especially compare to the full-sizes. Definitely more for your dollar buying a full-size, especially now since we are seeing $40K mid-sizes.

Only thing the mid-sizes have going from them is being a bit more nimble.

The diesel Colorado might widen the mpg gap, giving it a slight advantage over buying a full-size.

I heard though its gonna be a 40-50k truck. For that price Id rather have a fullsize.

yeah, I am guessing GM is only going to release it in the higher trims (hoping they release it in the base model like Ram did with the EcoDiesel, not holding my breath)...yeah I rather have a fullsize, at that price point....though I won't even pay that amount for a fullsize. My cap is $30K...which is base model fullsize, you get a lot in base, 4WD, AC, power everything...good enough for me.

Spend any more than that is just silly, since I beat the shit out of my trucks.

Ya it was a wake up call buying my Tacoma for $32k after purchasing my Z71 for $35k. If Im gonna make payments it might as well be something I love and I love my Tacoma just like I did my 08 and 11, the Silverado was a impulse buy/mistake. Though if I could afford the gas I'd be in a Tundra.

Shoot, don't even have to get the dirt bag base model to get a lot with a fullsize at $30K.

    http://www.edmarknampa.com/new-Nampa-2015-Chevrolet-Silverado+1500-4WD-1GCVKPECXFZ338019

Very hard to get even a basic V6 4WD Tacoma less than $30K. I do like the Tundra, except the for shitty mileage.

Even with my sig, I would assume if you can afford to trade up trucks at the rate you do you could of taken a breather from all that depreciation and paid for a 13 mpg Tundra....

That 5.3 L in the Chevies seems to be all over the map. I have one friend who is getting slightly better mileage than our F150 and another who can't get more than 16 mpg out of it. Maybe it's all in the driver. I personally find the 5.3 L kind of wimpy compared to the feel of the Ford 5.0 L and the Ram 5.7 L. When we test drove one I constantly felt myself questioning passing and merging. I'm not sure if the low end or the gearing is just wrong on the Silverado but hopefully it's addressed on the next transmission.

To the OP, enjoy your 2016! I'm not sure why people knock on the new truck so hard when so little is known about the performance numbers yet some of the features already mentioned seem promising. I won't be getting one but I expect the 2016 to be a good incremental improvement as a truck and a great improvement in creature comforts.

Yep...and maybe the engine. Two of my friends have Tundras, one says he is getting 18 out of his, the other can't get better than 13...the 13 has the flex fuel engine, apparently on those engines the mileage suffers, some think it is a bad sensor...he had the sensor replaced, still crappy mileage.

My friends with the Silverado's get anywhere from 16 to 23...still better than the Tundra. While the least powerful feeling engine of the V8's seems plenty for me though. Of course I have been driving under powered Toyotas for a 25 years now...doesn't take much to feel more powerful. ;)

We had two Tundra's in the system at work at one point. Both 2014's IIRC. Both reported about 14 mpg combined. 15% worse than the anything else in the fleet. They were sold off. Too expensive to operate.

BTW that's not insulting Toyota or Tundra. For a fairly new vehicle that has warranty and that costs more to lease or buy than anything else in it's class it's not a surprise most businesses pass up on the Tundra.

The driver, the weight, and the aerodynamics are the three biggest things.

They really need to do something about the fuel economy in the Tundra.

Not sure how my one buddy is getting 18, which he swears up and down he is. He is the only one I have ever heard getting that...he is an older guy in his 60's...so I kinda believe him.

I really like the Tundra, especially the Regular Cabs...love that extra space behind the seats...all RC trucks should have that...it is damn crappy mileage I couldn't live with.

The 2017 Super Duties RC's might getting style of cab, can't really tell from the spy shots though...

He probably drives conservatively. I think 18 mph is pretty doable in the Tundra. It does have a 6 speed tranny, which was way ahead of it's time in 2007. Tundras are the truck you get if you don't care too much about MPG but value QDR. I think the refresh looks way better than the 2007 model year Tundra.
