Nor-cal GOLD LAKE July 10-12th camping trip this summer.

Awesome! Yeah I know that spot well, got hung up there going up. Also watched a guy in a LC on 35's coming down it, and he was reaaaaaallllly close to flopping there.

Glad to hear everyone scored a campsite! Sounds like a killer trip. I love that place. Next time up I'm going to check out Deer lake for camping and take a trip up to the Fire Lookout.

 

Had a great time, the camp site was awesome. Good to meet everyone new to me and seeing the others that I have been going out on these outings with.

Bret, anytime you want to caravan on one of the trips just let me know. Like you said always makes the ride so much more enjoyable.

Thanks again Nick for putting this together. Gold Lake was a great spot to camp. Good to see some old faces and meet a lot of new ones. Hope to see everyone out on more trips throughout the year! Janelle grabbed a few pictures of all the trucks setup in camp and of snake lake. Ill download them later tonight and post them up tomorrow!

 

yup, fun trip. I will get some pics posted as well. good to meet some new people, and see those who I did know. and thanks Nick for organizing, saving spots and helping me change out my tire.

Thanks, Mike for wheeling with this newbie. I would not have done those trails alone and now I know what these trucks are capable of. Even with my mild build, it came out nearly carnage free thanks to Mike's skills. I followed most of his lines and cleared everything no problem. Even sweeter was we connected with Pauley Creek, the trails I've been waiting to hit on the truck. I've always blasted down this one on the MTB and wondered if my truck could make it.

If you may remember, my TPMS got sheared. No inflater could seal it up, so I had to put on the spare. To TPMS or rubber stems? Ideas?

If anyone is in the South Bay and wants to hit Hollister, just hit me up

the route home was fun, drove the Sierra Buttes trail and hiked to the top (well, Mark and Dmitry hiked, I crawled huffing and wheezing)

 

Wow, I missed out on that?! Dang, I wish I didn't have to leave so early. Those are such great pics. That trail up to the Buttes is fairly tame?

 

Yeah, it was well worth the extra time.

mostly easy trail except for 2 rocks you need to squeeze by, cliff face on one side and sheer drop on other (the first 2 pics are when I went that way on Friday to get to camp)
