Owned an 08,11 and now my 15. I bought my 15 after waiting for the 16 reveal, though there's alot of nice updates, that front end is pretty unappealing and I know how to work on and mod these trucks and am very confident in the platform/reliability, etc. Though the 16 will likely be solid it is still an unproven platform. Maybe come 2020 and they have a facelift, etc. Seeing the $3k price increase for a DCLB Sport 4WD solidifies my decision as well.

The moonroof option in the '16 was worth considering but I'm far too impatient and I found a PBR DCLB I couldn't pass up so '15 Taco it is for me.

Yeah, that's an option but most aftermarket moonroofs I've seen aren't that great of quality and I'd prefer not to cut a huge hole where there wasn't one before. I decided to live without it and go with the '15 for many of the other reasons already stated - existing problems have known fixes, many mods to do, '16 price likely to be higher, etc.

    None yet, plenty to come
I bought mine because in the previous 3 months i'd spent $7k on fixing my GTO. I needed a truck, was torn between the 15 and 16, but not a fan of the nose on the 16. What really sold it for me was the deal I got, as frankly it was just too good to pass up.

I bought my son a 2015 DCSB 4x4 Sport because we both looked at the pictures of the 2016 and thought it was butt ugly.

    Too few to list.
Bought my 15 since I didn't like the looks of the 16. 2nd Gens are reliable enough for me and I don't mind the lack of refinements and features. I also didn't buy it for its gas mileage.

To those who bought the 2015 just recently, did you only get two keys? No valet?

Pretty much the same as previous posts. I needed a pickup and the 15 was tried and true. Although the 16 looks awesome I am hesitant on a first year makeover. Probably just superstition. I'll buy the 2029 when I give my truck to my son!

Bought my 2015 about four months ago and quite honestly the 2016 had nothing to do with it (tech, appearance, mpg, etc.). The only thing I wish my '15 had was a 6-speed auto. I am REALLY curious to see if Toyota really does figure out the rear diff problems. I only lifted my 2015 an inch due to fear of VIBES.

I ordered my '15 in Feb because I was ready and wanted it then. Also, I knew if I waited that the '16 would cost more + my '05 would be worth less. A double negative...which also convinced my wife!

I wanted a tried and true truck and it doesn't get any more solid than the last of the second gen, so I snatched one up and love it.

However, usually I am more of a out with the old and in with the new kind of guy.

Bought the ’15 back in February and haven’t looked back. I’m very pleased with the decision as the truck has more than served the intended purpose. I could have waited for the ’16 to arrive but I preferred the looks of the ’15 along with its proven platform. I didn’t want to be part of the new model release experiment and fall prey to accompanying issues.

I don't find the 2016 as ugly as some of you make it sound. But yes I have to admit I purchased the 2015 because I wanted no part of being a 2016 owner. Looking back I couldn't be happier with my 2015.

I bought my 2015 TRD Sport DCSB right after I sold my Dodge Ram money pit. I could have waited, but with the 4 liter disappearing, I couldn't pass up getting one. And it just made sense getting the last of the 2nd generation with all the aftermarket parts available. I'll say one thing though, the lip on the front bumper of the 2016 is fugly. And I too will wait out the Lamentations of first, second and quite possibly third model years of the next generation to see what develops.
