I have a tundy axle and am building a 9" now. Parts for 9" are super common and cheaper. I want to say therangerstation.com has an article in their tech library about all the different 9" options, widths, spline counts, and what vehicles they came in.

Personally, I bought a fabricated housing and am building it that way. More money for sure but it's built to my needs now and for the truck's future I won't need to upgrade or spend more money on it. I am buying a Detroit locker off eBay from a nascar team. It's used but rebuilt or whatever. I have a few friends who have run them with zero complaints.

Anybody have advice on getting either a high torque flywheel (heavier) or lightweight aluminum one to go with my clutch? I think the high torque ones would be better. There is a 30lb and a 38lb one. Stock flywheel is 22lbs. Figured I might as well do that too while I'm in there. Not sure if it's worth an extra $350 or not over resurfacing the stock one. Eventually I'm going with 35" tires, and I have a turbo now, so im not sure what you guys would recommend for my application.

Then you modify the drive shaft to mate with it?

    What about those ox lockers?

I would buy the pinion yoke from trail gear that has a triple drilled flange. They don't make ox lockers for drop out axles.

I might be interested in that tundra axle. Can you send me some specs?

Saw a bumper sticker on a huge war suburban by my work. Said "That's real cute, Barbie drove a Jeep too." I laughed.

Ah, those are just maintenance items on a truck like that. Goodluck!

Yeah it was nothing too major, but the power steering pump was supposedly brand new when he got the truck, along with the cvs, clutch, and the ball joint. and the ball joint broke the 2nd time out.

he was planning on keeping the truck for a long time so he spent the coin on the lce clutch, which was like $550?

and the gusset kit he paid to have done, which was some coin as well.

all in all he has 99% of the bugs worked out, and it will be a great truck for whoever wants it, and at a great deal.

It has new brakes, bearings and seals a month ago, but the seals are now leaking fluid all over the place. I think the housing might be bent.

Ah I see. I'm in kinda the same boat. I'm on my 3rd driver seal and wheel bearing. It went out 3 months after I replaced it, brakes, that stupid abs sprocket, it was like 6 bills worth of shit and now its toasted again. That's why I started looking into the tundra and 9s.

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
The e van is pretty wide, I've been thinking of getting one for the bronco.

I doubt I actually need a 9" but if I'm going to buy an axle to build, I might as well get one. I think the f150 is the one to get.

From what I've gathered, a tundra axle will not be a wise choice for a desert truck. I just wish I knew that before having this axle rebuilt.
