Results 2 weeks after my surgery to fix my boxer fracture. Take down if inappropriate but i thought it was interesting. Typing with one (left) hand sucks btw. Pins out next week then removable cast for 1 more week. Cant wait.

how long did your recovery take? its been over 3 months since my surgery and my hand/finger is around 50%-60% range of motion. the drs. said hopefully around 6 months ill have 85% range of motion. also, arent you a cop? was this before or after you got hired? did u tell them? can you make a fist? im not worried about the ache, im concerned that i wont be able to get on a fire/police dept. due to a limited range of motion.

Hey man, don't worry too much about range of motion. If you do the prescribed PT and really work on breaking up the scar tissue in the first 6 months after surgery then you should be fine. I have broken my index knuckle, same as yours, on my right hand 3 times and had it pinned twice. I have lost about 2% of flexion but as far as pulling a trigger or dexterity in that finger, it's perfectly fine. I shoot quite often and my occupation entails lots of fine motor functions and my finger has never bothered me. Hope this helps to alleviate some of your anxiety!
