Yeah I'm honestly considering just having the standard OME 885 kit with Dakars installed and calling it quits. Still talking about $1,900 to have just that done. For me at least that's a lot of money. ;) Upgrading UCA's just to get taller coils, and the risk of having angles change, etc. Not sure I want to deal with that. Both custom shops in town that deal with this stuff are suggesting I just do the OME kit itself.

Mine's been on for 3+ years without a single issue. Full OME kit with LR UCA's, Dakars and top plate spacers. I also have the CB drop. CV angles aren't bad at all. OZ has had his on longer than mine without any issues.

Yeah I get that. I guess I need to spend time considering this. Truck is 4 months old and under warranty too! Would help if my local shops had actually installed things the way you folks recommend and had their own opinions based on that experience.

The one shop said he will install anything I want him to.

Mine was 3 months old when I installed all of mine. Mine is still under warranty to 100k.

Mine was about a month old (2015). ;)

This is the exact reason why I did my own. I called around and they told me what I wanted. After telling them what I wanted they would say I'm waisting my money or they had a better kit. In reality there kit was half the lift with crap components for the same price. So I decided Letting them do something I didn't want was a waist of my money and installed it myself. Took about 7-8 hours. First time doing a lift. Way easier than you think. With the money I saved on the install I bought the UCA.

Ha-ha yeah I watched the marketing video for the BP-51 system. I'm just going to guess it is well beyond my budget.

Think I'll stick to the original plan.

Just have to decide if I go 885 or 887 with UCA.

I found the LR UCAs on Amazon for about $400.

Headstrong Off Road has them for $375.99 with free freight.

Have had full OME suspension with 885's for 60k miles now with stock control arms with no issues at all. I now have a plate bumper, no winch, skids and sliders for about the last 15K miles. There's a little more rake than factory but I use it as a truck so I want some rake. If I knew when I installed I would be adding weight up front I would have gone with 887's & UCA's right away and will as soon as it's in the budget. Herd to many say the 886 was to stiff even w weight. I'd stick with 885's if no weight is in your near future, it keeps it simple. I run 265's, if your planning on 285's you'll prob need the 887's.

I just put Michelin LTX M/S2's on my Taco and really like them. Planning to keep those as I just don't need an AT tire right now. They are 265/70-16. So I'm not worried about rubbing of any kind at this point!

I'm waiting to hear back from the guy at Dark Horse Customs. Think he's given up on me. ;) We've exchanged a number of emails throughout the business day yesterday. Asked him about whether he could source the LR UCA's.

Personally, I'd rather have everything professionally installed and would like to buy locally if I can get away with it. I'm in local business and I want to support my neighbors.

Should have said, my quote is with the purchase of the rest of the OME lift. They give a small discount for getting it all right then. Add the kit to your cart with UCA and you will see what I'm taking about.

My local shop just sent me an email. He said he can't get the LR UCA's for less than $449. Told me I should get them from Headstrong to save myself money.

Are you saying Headstrong gives a discount if I buy the whole kit from them? If so maybe I need to call them tomorrow when I'm off work or something. The cheaper I can do it all the better, right? :)

So Headstrong Offroad's website says the rear OME shocks do NOT fit 2015 Tacoma's.....? What's up with that?

And I can't find the 887s on their site either.

This is the exact kit you want. They fit there may be a little grinding on the lower shock mount. Not a big deal. Mine is a 2015 and this is what I had to do. I talked to Marie at HS and she said it was only a handful of people that had any problem (grinding lower rear shock mount). I just happened to be one. Took less than 10 min to grind and let paint dry enough to to keep working.

Second picture is of problem. Shock may rub. Third picture is after grinding. I took off about a 1/8 - 3/16".

The hell....they made the lower shock mount slightly larger? What shock fits *without* grinding?
