Plug and Play, it's the same contacts as the orig bulb. If it doesn't light up take it out and turn it around. The base may be a little wide/tight fit, just file it off a little.

Very very Good! Thank you. And especially thank you for the cautions about scratching or breaking the plastic parts. Self inflicted damage is always my biggest fear. I'll try to do my gearshift bezel this weekend. It's black. I'm going to lighten up the color.

Great write up. Used it today to replace my light. I was able to salvage the cap and reattach to the new bulb I got at O'Reilly's Auto - cap wasn't pretty but does the trick keeping it lit orange.

Grabbed the 2723 bulbs from Autozone, no problem. Glad I read this, it was so nasty taking the area apart. The orange cap popped off like a condom, so I tried to put it back on like one, it was ok, but had a ripple. Trying to straighten it out, my nail caught it an ripped it. But it flapped back over and I figured not to mess with it.

Great thread. Just replaced mine after getting bulb at autozone. I was able to reuse my orange cap and good as new! Thanks for the great thread!

I bought 2723 sylvania bulbs (2pack) for a couple bucks, then bought some rustoleum high heat spray paint in blue, let it dry then put it in. I didn't have the patience to order the led version. I wasn't worried about the brightness of the led anyway I wanted a color.

Is that the same size as the LED bulb he used in the picture?

That's odd, but I specifically used the vleds one. Had to shave down the sides a hair. It came in a two pack and I put the 2nd in my buddies truck. Both have never come out.
