which tires are the best

i am wanting to buy new tires for my truck and im wondering what tires are better?

i freaking love the sidewall of the baja claw, it makes happy in my pants. i'm thinking either those or some baja champ KM's but wifey wants AT's I FREAKING WANT SIDEWALL!!! so yea prolly KM's

 

The only ones I have experiance with are the BFG AT KO's. They are great tires and take a lot of abuse (curb checks, going way to fast out in the desert, ect...). The only complaint I could give them is that they're fairly poor on traction when wet... however I have a pre-runner, they were full air, and I had no weight in the back of the truck. I doubt anything other than an MT tire might have helped, even then.... probably not. So far I have approx 26k on my set, chunked a lot of the tread trying to climb a hill and failing miserably with it (locked prerunner), done towing and all... still have at least 50% or more life to go. I've knocked the sidewalls up left and right... not even a hint of structural failure.

I'll stick with BFG KO's as they've proven themselves for me, though the bfg km2's are tempting

 

Getting new tires depends on your needs, off road or partial off roads are a whole lot different than regular street tires.
Glad you asked this question as next year I might get new ones.... my neighbor had great luck with the company called TireRack, picked out a set of rims and tires, came to him delivered, mounted and balanced.....he gets new tires about every 55K, no off road work for him.

Do you guys notice a lot of road noise? What about gas millage?

I've got the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R ( http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...tireModel=Wrangler+MT/R&partnum=77PR7WRMTROWL ) and they've cost me a TON in gas, and tire wear is terrible, and a TON of road noise. Not been pleased.. but they look awesome

 

BFG's are always a good choice, whether it be the AT KO's or KM2.
