Even though you purchased your rig with only 9 miles on the OD, it very well could have been dinged on delivery, repaired and sold as new....the repair obviously is lacking compared to the rest of the paint, looks like a terrible redo JOB...

Sucks, but it is what it is...good thing they are picking up the tab...

as of now, im going to give the dealership three weeks to contact me. i spoke with them last week and the guy ive been dealing with told me that it would be less than a month that i would hear back from them. if i dont hear back from them in three weeks, im going to call up the corporate toyota people and explain the situation so i can get this shit show on the road. im tired of waiting. HIGHLY disappointed in toyota right now

Same problem here but mine is a single line about a 1/2 in or so in the bumper. Im terrified now to have it repaired I just got through a nightmare of them repainting the small end cap on the bumper ( tech wrecked in shop) but that's another story. Anyways they had it for 3 wks trying to match the texture on the bumper end cap 3 times it came out smooth or too glossy rather then the stock texture (orange peel) that seem like more of a dul and in the end they took the part of a new truck on the lot. Anyways im wondering what the fix would typically be for a crack like that because if its a complete repaint of the bumper id almost rather let it keep cracking then deal with them being unable to match the paint correctly again.

man that sounds like a nightmare. as of now they are going to be repainting the bed panel on the driver side, as well as the rear door on the driver side. im not letting toyota touch it though. the guy thats doing the work is a trusted neighbor of mine that has his own body shop in town. and he does great work. so time will tell i guess. still waiting on the slow poke at the dam dealership to get back with me.

At this point - I'd walk up the dealer owner, hand him the keys and say "where is my new truck?? I paid for a new truck - so give me one or I'll sue ! " Then I'd leave it there and call Toyota Corp. I'm betting they will take it as a swap for a "new" truck.

ive contacted the owner, and all he basically did was just get the guy (who i was already dealing with) to call me and explain to me that this issue takes time. perfectly understandable. im going to take their word for it just this once. its been two weeks since ive last contacted them. if it gets to be a month, im calling corporate toyota.

well, bad news for me. the defect has now spread to the roof just in front of my shark fin (satellite radio antennae). time to call up the dealership again and repeat this whole process. my warranty is good for 36,000 miles and my truck currently has 31,000 miles :anonymous: how bout that

just a little update for those who may be curious:
when the defect was on my rear driver side door and the driver side bed panel, the owner of the dealership bought me two new panels and paid to get them painted.
Now, the same exact paint defect showed up on my roof (was probably there the entire time; just too faint to notice).
i contacted the dealer once again, and the owner of the dealership stated that he would not pay for my roof to be repainted. this has been the biggest pain in the ass. i have contacted a lawyer and am currently waiting to hear back from him to get his opinion on this issue.
