    OK, attempt to de-derp.

    I need some advice from you metal workers out there. Yesterday my son laid my motorcycle down (low speed rear wheel lockup, he's ok, bike bent and scratched at various points), but my left-side forward controls are all bent up. The forward controls are essentially a mounting plate and shift arm, which are 1/8-1/4 chrome plated steel. Both the plate and the arm are bent

    The chrome plating is my problem. I figure I can bend the plate/arm, but how would I attempt to do that while minimizing the chance of cracking the chrome plating? Any input/advice?

    No, I am not trading it for donuts or beer. :p
