Just WOW, you have the exact same set up I've been wanting to go with, tires and bumper, SWEET! Questions, did you have to trim to eliminate any rubbing? How tall is your lift in the front? What kind of UCA, OEM or aftermarket?

these should roughly represent the difference in the same tire with the 2 sizes.
Not to mention the weight differnce.

    Both are BFG AT KO2

The info I posted in actual measurements of the tire in question taken directly from Tirerack.com.
So no point was missing on this.
Unless of course you think Tire rack lies......
My point was the tires are very close in actual size YET the slightly smaller version is offered in a lighter C rating.

@Noahs2015Taco Thank you...!! I have "0" issues with rubbing, no trimming at all. The lift is OME on all 4 corners, 886 springs with Cambrug UCA up front (about 3"). Here's my build thread if you like to read up on truck.

Well, the tires have been out for several months now. QUESTION, you guys who switched to 265/75/r16 from stock, what sort of mpg drop have you noticed so far?? Also, what PSI are you all running?

The stock 265/70/r16 is out now. But hard to find and expensive compared to 265/75/r16...and I'd really like to go with the larger size, just suffering from analysis paralysis lol! Wish there were more info and pics w/ 275/70/r16. It's a lighter LRD but slightly wider than both the others.

Has anyone compared the noise level of these to the duratracs? I have 265 70 17 goodyear authorities, which I assume to sound very similar to the duratracs. They are a good tire, but are too loud on the hwy for me. Thinking about the ko2 in 275 70 17.

Switched from duratracs to ko2s. Ko2s are very quiet and smooth. So far a better tire than the duratracs. Haven't had chance to try snow yet.

Thanks for sharing your build and experience with the 34/10.5r17 BFG K02. Since you've confirmed that you had zero rubbing issues it's settled, I'm stepping up to the same exact tire. It's a good thing you're all the way on the other coast, because it looks like we're doing very similar builds, you even have the same swing out bumper. Again thanks for being the guinea pig and sharing.

I just replaced the first gen KO's with the second gen KO 2. I did go from 275/70/17 to a 265/70/17 and the first thing I noticed was the road noise at highway speeds has declined considerably. Also the ride is much softer possibly due to going from E to C. Either way I am much happier with the new tiers vs. the old.

E to a C is always a huge ride improvement which is why I will never run an E rated tire again.

Agreed the E's are just too stiff.

They are designed for another 1000lbs of weight per tire and 30psi over a C rated tire which makes them much better suited for a fullsize truck.

I would get these if they came in 265/75R16 Load C. E rated tires are just not necessaries for Tacomas.

Is your Duratracs C or E load? How are you liking them and how are they wearing?

Could be they used thicker sidewall material. I have heard the 2 ply on the General AT2's use 2 layer 1500 denier sidewalls where the KO's used 3 layer 1000 denier. Same thickness just different approaches.

    http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-123444.html

    Food for thought...
