    Hi guys,

    First, this forum seems awesome. Such a wealth of knowledge. I was wondering if I could get some expert advice?

    I own a boat and trailer...specifically:

    Scout Dorado 222 - 2,000 lbs
    Yamaha F150 engine - 500 lbs
    misc accessories and boat stuff - 200 lbs?
    EZ Trailer - 1,000 lbs
    Total = 3,700 - 4,000 lbs

    I was originally going to buy a Tundra but, am turned off by the massive size. I also park in underground parking in the city.

    I was wondering if anyone had experience towing (short distances) a boat of this size with a Tacoma? I was thinking of getting the TRD Prerunner with the 6,400 towing capacity.

    Also, given the timing, is it worth waiting for the 2016 model to come out?

    Thanks

    ive only towed a zero turn mower and 10' trailer. probably 1800 lbs total, which was nothing for the tacoma. I see people towing boats with tacomas all the time though. I have to say, the backup camera is the cats ass when hitching up. You can line the ball up dead on with the trailer every time. The 2016 is completely up to you. I dont like how they look.

    I think the key phrase is short distances.

    Thanks guys. Yes it would be hauling in and out of bot ramps and maybe going 5 miles. Out of curiosity is it bad if I were to go let's say 10-20 miles? I guess being a smaller truck it's not wide enough for stability?
