the tactical slugs are pretty sweet though...the ones we'll get are rifled so they'll still spin thru the barrel...and theyre slower than many hunting slugs...so they wont over destroy someone

seriously, who doesn't love a shotgun? i've got friends in LE and they say the sound of racking a shell is enough to make most criminals freeze and drop to the ground. and it that isn't enough, you have the force of a freight train coming down on them. you can literally cut off a limb with one shot. whats not to love?

I have a little S&W 442. 5 shot .38 special +P. Great gun for summer concealment. I think this gun would be perfect for your wife. Light weight, small size. Happy shooting!

    00 Buck is .35"...
Inre OP, SW 642 is light, strong and rated for +p .38sp. All you can handle out of a lightweight snub.
I shot a SW 360 Ti 357 and it was easily the most violent handgun I've ever shot and I've shot them all.
No way you want 357mag out of a lightweight snub.
You don't gain much velocity due to the barrel length (lack of).
Can be found for around $400.
I like bobbed hammers....less to snag.

Taurus Snub Nose .38 Spcl 6 shot......it's my wife's carry/home defense gun. Idiot proof and easy to fit in a lady's small hand. Best choice IMO.

    of course
OK, nothing better than a Smith when you want a revolver.

Here is what I would get my wife if she would shoot a 38
    http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...angId=-1&parent_category_rn=15704&isFirearm=Y

    Her is an internet price
    http://www.proguns.com/smithwesson-442revolver.asp

now, do not be afraid to find one used. These things will have a few hundred to a thousand rounds through them, then end up behind glass for 400 bucks. Remeber, when you pull the trigger, you want the gun to fire a round faithfully. Over the life of a handgun a hundred bucks or so isnothing for the security.

im not going to argue with what MOST 00buck is...because honestly i dont know...i do know that our firearms instructors and armorers explained our 00buck rounds as 6 .22 caliber pellets
