I honestly think it looks alright. At least it doesn't have that snow plow under it. People don't like change so of course people is going to call it "fugly". I'm pretty sure the samething was said before the 2nd Gen even came out. And look how that turn out to be

Nope that thing is ugly. Sorry, love the rear, the interior, that front end though is horrible.

The front end issue reminds me of the last gen Mazda, where everyone complained about the smiley face. Obviously it's subjective, but what is it about this front end that people find fugly? What's an aesthetically pleasing one look like? After 20+ years of driving cars, I'm finally considering getting a truck. Unfortunately, I never paid attention to trucks. I guess I don't have a developed palette. haha

The huge underbite (for safety standards), the tiny headlights with a humongous grille, the chromed out grille, the bumper insert (black piece connecting fog lights), etc. It dosent flow and lets be honest its not very appealing, its like all the recent truck designs huge giant inflated front ends, chevy, ford, nissan are all doing it. It looks like a pig, its been 3 years since the release of the new chevys and I still think that front end is gawd awful. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, many will argue it will grow on us and that people didnt like the 2nd gens either, but if you take the time to go back, there was far less outcry, I love all the improvements toyota made to the interior, features like the tailgate, but the design dosent flow at all its a 2nd gen cab with a reskinned front and back that looks bloated. pics of the hood popped show the huge empty space (6+ inches) that braces, extends, supports that monster ugly front end. They took a 2nd gen and frankensteined it. Needless to say the outgoing 2nd gens are a great platform that needed updated but this new truck is pretty ugly, but then again so are alot of toyota's new designs (mirai, etc.) End rant. Not hating on everyone getting one, its still a taco, to me though even seeing it everyday in pictures for the last 6 months I think its still pretty fugly, saw it in person as well at the autoshow and still like I said everything but that front end.

OEM running boards and roof rack. Yellow fog bulbs and WeatherTech mats and window visors.
Unfortunately, a lot of the front end designs you are seeing are due to NHTSA pedestrian safety regulations that are coming out. If you look at the basic design to and full size truck grill, even the Ford Transit van, have the same design on the bottom of the grill. Way of the world to come, I suppose...

Yeah good points. Maybe the aftermarket will have some solutions. I'm still gonna consider the '16 DCSB V6 4x4. Not sure which model to go with yet. Whatever I get I plan to keep for a long time. I change cars all too frequently.

3rd Gen looks just like 2nd Gen. Hope the engine is better. No pings.
