Hey guys. I've been using Pennsoil and Mobile 1 oils in my Tacoma, depending on which was on sale. This week Royal Purple is on sale. And have heard that this is a great oil. I was wondering if anyone is using it , and is it worth paying 10$ more a jug to have it. What's your thought ? Thanks

Use any oil that meets oem specs your engine wont know the difference and will probably out last the truck.

I not a big believer that there really is a noticeable difference in most oils.

Stay away from the generic brands and you're probably just fine.

I use Mobil 1 because I did a ton of research and couldn't find one bad thing about it.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I'd stick with Pennzoil, idk what type you are using right now, but the Pennzoil Platinum synthetic is the best off the shelf synthetic you can buy right now. Pure plus technology and made from natural gas. I used to be a big believer in Mobil 1 but after reading the blackstone test results between the two I am now a PP believer. I've been running it for the past 2,000 miles and my engine loves it, it's quieter, starts easier and gets slightly better MPG. The oil still looks brand new despite all the gravel roads and dust I drive in.

Do you use Rotella because of the extra zinc in it?

I know it is a popular diesel oil and used it in my '06 Silverado DuraMax.

Is the additive package in the Rotella harmful to our Tacoma catalytic converters?

Thank you for providing more details. I had heard that Rotella had an ingredient that reduced wear in Diesel engines. Does anyone know what is different about "diesel" oils other than a higher viscosity than most oils intended for gasoline engines?

stick with Mobil 1. never any question, it's available everywhere and if changed every 10,000 miles your engine
will be as new at 200,000 miles a it was at 10,000 miles. no BS
