1/2" top plate spacer?

Looking at these for my Tacoma to even out the rake I got from Dakars, I thought they'd settle more but the rear of the truck is currently about 1.5-2" higher than the front.

I currently have Fox 2.5 Coilovers but they are maxed out at 2" of lift already (yes they are the 0-2" models). Will a spacer this small cause the same problems large ones do? If so I guess I'll just have to save up and get some 650# coils..

I have a half inch spacer up front and they don't have the same effect as the larger spacers.

How much lift did the 1/2" spacer give you? 1/2" or closer to 3/4"?

 

1/2"

They come with the OME kits in order to give you a full 3" lift depending on what springs you get.

I found a cheap way to make your own spacer. I found out that my taco lean is more than what most people here claim to be. in my case, I ordered the 1/4" aluminum spacer from toytec, but was not enough to cure the lean. I was 1/4" short, so I used the spacer to blue print a 1/2" spacer from a hard plastic cutting board ( the ones that look like thick rubbermaid material) that is exaclty 1/2" thick. So far, is working and can't even tell is there.

 

I would like to try this but do a 3/4" spacer on the drivers side and 1/2" on the passenger side. That way it would give you a little lift and fix the lean.

 

you may have to have a combination of a 1/2" an a 1/4" spacer but then, you are going to need bolt extenders. the max you can go with the original bolts, is 1/2" if you turn the nuts upside down or get shallow ones.

 

Yeah I'd need longer bolts for sure. I wouldn't stack a 1/2" and 1/4" I'd just have a 3/4" aluminum spacer made.

 

I'm questioning the spacers now after looking at my UCA's at full droop, they're probably 1/8" from the coils. So if I even throw 1/2" spacers on there it'll hit the coils at full droop right?

 

I gained a 1" lift with a half inch spacer FYI.

 

Do I need a spring compressor to install spacers on Fox's? In a video I just watched it almost looks like I could install longer studs on Fox's without having to remove the top of the coilover assembly
