Did you know you have two peices listed? Also, how often was 4x4 engaged? Why don't your local dealers have dclb?

4x4 has been engaged approximately once every 3 months since I've owned it…beginning March 2013. It works perfectly, fortunately. I know that it can harm the car if it's not regularly engaged. My friend who has a 4Runner taught me that.

Two pieces??? I'm not sure what you mean…

The local dealers do not/have not since 2005,2006, 2008 had the DCLBSWB on their lot. I couldn't afford $40,000 for it then...I'm good friends with them, and they all have my number. Toyota made the Speedway Blue color from 2005 - 2008 … then discontinued it. Then they made a few in 2008, 2009, & 2011…2011 was the last of them. The bulk of them were made from 2005-2008 (thousands)…then in 2008-2011 (hundreds)

I could merely buy another color longbed and paint it, but then I'm spending money on the longbed + $7,000 on a paint job if I want them to do it properly. I figure, waiting it out is the best option financially. I have a great truck, it's just 90% of what I originally wanted…that's all. It will never be 100% what I was originally looking for, because I always wanted a DCSWBLB…not a SB.

I've had my eye out since 2006…it's overwhelmingly frustrating!!!

    Skeptical? Search Cars.com / CarGurus.com / Trovit.com / CarMax.com etc. etc. etc.

They are out there, but for more than $20,000 … most being in the $30,000 range … I'm not about to drop that kind of money on the same car with a longbed instead…

The SWBLBDC is about as rare as a Bugatti … to find one for sale under $20,000 & not in an accident per CARFAX.

I'm kicking myself for not signing for it when they were on the lot in 2005-2008…:(. This is a coast to coast search too...

He may have meant two prices throughout the thread. I'm assuming since you put new tires, that's why the increase in price.

Every vehicle is going to have a cigarette lighter. That doesn't mean he smokes. In fact the lack of ash shows its never lit a cigarette.

Well, not every vehicle. My '14 didn't come with one.

Guess it was standard equipment in 2006. Sorry!

No, I can promise you it has never been smoked in. That is the first thing I look for when I buy a car. If the owner is careless enough to smoke in the car, then they are careless enough to miss an oil change. The deal is over if I find out it has been smoked in…seriously...

No need for apologies, I was the one mistaken. I can't believe yours didnt???

Nevertheless, owning a lighter doesn't mean it's a smoker. Owning a clean one means you're not!

Great news. I test drove another 2007 Tacoma with 4x4 & mine kicked the crap out of it. My engine internals & 4x4 functions were like new in comparison. There is no sludge in my engine. :)

That's what frequent oil changes, a new PCV valve, & full synthetic will get you. I've had the Fitch Fuel Catalyst installed on it for the past 2 years as well...it's supposed to help clean the fuel entering the engine to prolong engine life.

Money. Lol. I don't think I would get your asking price for my truck even though I only have 120k miles. 2wd sr5. Engine's great but I've got paint chips scratches dings and body work.

Fitch fuel catalyst? Link? What fluids do you use for your changes, what intervals, and what's a pcv valve?

I haven't had this truck for all its life and only recently have I been meticulous about maintenance. If mine does have sludge or whatever holds back an engine, can it be reversed or am I stuck? I have no problem digging into it either

Secondly, this is another reason you may not want to get another 2007. All your hard work is going to be transferred to someone else's hard miles and your truck will likely decline in maintenance. If you wanted a while could you get new or lightly used? I know a 2015 4x4 v6 SR is only about 24 to 25k. There's also the option of fleet sales or end of lease sales.
