These threads are really going to heat up when actual specs are released...or maybe people will be bored that they can't speculate anymore and will just leave the forum.

    This is what I found.

    http://forums.drom.ru/4x4/t1152170866-p301.html

At the Forum there is information about the new Prado.
    The assembly will begin 2016.08
    Engines:
    2.7 petrol (6-Automatic, Push start / stop)
    2.8 turbodiesel new engine (178-258 hp) Euro-4, euro-5, euro- 6 confirmity
    3.5 petrol (7GR-FSE, D-4S,) about 300 hp, consumption decreased by 17%, euro-5, euro-6 confirmity,
    all with 6 automatic transmission.

That is, 4.0 and 3.0 clean. And the old reliable is 2.7

There have been a few diagrams released to dealerships showing the engine is a 2GR-FKS. I know a preliminary order sheet showed the 7GR nomenclature. It's hard to tell who is right because both are from Toyota sources. The 2GR-FKS sheets are no where near as old though so I'd lean in that direction.

Its going to be a 7 cylinder to fool everybody. An extra cylinder just for the air compressor. Don't say I didn't say it first!

    me thinks so...

My original guesstimate is 24 hwy (real world)

Some of those foreign sites I have been reading have it 300 hp 285 tq...I think that is high considering the Cunuck site slipping with the 270 hp number.

Wish they would hurry up and spill the damn beans. :D

This waiting is driving me nuts, and it's time to get more parts for the 2010..... think I ruled out the 15, either keep going on the 10 or get the 16....

Even if you could shoehorn one into the engine bay of a Tacoma, people would bitch about the craptastic economy and the fact that they're 'car' engines.
