Dunno what you are going with but I haven't had any issues on the 882 with big ass winch and the tube bumper. Not sure if that helps but there it is..

That's bullshit, unless you get suspension components that limit your travel your suspension will flex the same amount so 33's stock and 33's with 3" lift will require the same amount of trimming.

Yep that's what I was thinking. 883 should handle it as well or better

the recent suspension talk has been entertaining. :) I know guys like the bling factor of Kings etc but expensive COs like Kings or ADS or remote reservoir shocks are completely and 100% overkill for 99% of the people on this forum. If you want to spend that kind of money, go for it but most people here won't use them to even 1/4 of their potential. Don't get me wrong, they're sweet once you get them dialed in. I'll go out on a limb and say I probably put as many miles offroad on my truck as just about anyone else on here (or at least close to it). I spend time in the rocks, and do lots of high speed miles in rough terrain too. I'm pretty sure I could make a justification for spendy adjustable coilovers but IMO it's still not worth the hassle or the cost. Rebuildable coilovers aren't really a "buy once- cry once" thing. You're slowly spending money over and over again to rebuild them and tweaking them to get them dialed how you want them. I'm 100% fine paying to replace my OME coilovers when they wear out and chances are I'll probably still be cheaper in the long run since I'm not constantly rebuilding them.
The threaded adjusters rust easily too so there's regular maintenance needed if you want your expensive stuff to last very long.

I'm not trying to say that OME are "high-end" by any stretch but they are a good suspension that performs really well for most conditions. If you have to ask yourself if you need something more than that from your suspension, chances are you don't. You'll know when you do. The OME stuff is almost completely maintenance free and performs nicely for trail running and even for moderate speed desert bombing.

Another piece of misinformation that has been given is that OME 883's give more lift than 882s. The 882 is actually a taller coil but has the same spring rate as the 881. The 883 is the same height as the 881 (2.5") but has a higher spring rate so it will not sag as much with the weight of bumpers/winches etc. I chose the 882 because it was slightly taller but softer. Yes it might sag more than an 883 but they both will end up about the same height but I find the 882 has a smoother ride because its not as stiff. I have a bumper and winch and heavy skid plates and my 882 handle the weight just fine.

Just one guy's opinion and I know I'm in the minority around here but I don't really care about having bling parts on my trucks just to brag about.

My 265/75/16 have suited me well both on and off road so the logical step to 265/70/17 which is almost identical in size and weight just in a 17 wheel made sense.
I like the C over E rated option ride quality plus the lower weight is a bonus.

    You just :jellydance:

Until you've had a good suspension on your vehicle, you really don't know the difference. Set ups like OME are ok for a little bit of lift and putting around on some dirt roads, but they don't smooth out out the bumps and ruts like a quality suspension. The cheaper suspensions do a fine job for basic wheeling but they lack the flex of a longer, progressive coil. A more quality suspension also saves abuse to the rest of your vehicle components. I've seen a few Tacomas bust a coil through the springs bucket because the suspension was too stiff to absorb repeated shocks. Technology has moved ahead leaps and bounds. Some people embrace it, some people fight it. When I was a kid my grandfather bought a truck with no power steering, no power brakes, no a/c, and no power windows. He said all that new dangled technology was useless and would just break. (Who said all old people are wise?)
It's not about bling, it's about embracing new technology.
Expedition is the wave of the future. Some a friend of mine that owns a company that makes bumpers for Tacomas fought making them out of aluminum until 2/3 of his customers wanted lightweight, expo style bumpers, so now he's geared up for that.
Read these comments. I fought it myself at first. But I'm started to enjoy where this is going.
