Will 2015 new prices drop ahead of 2016 release?

Sorry guys, as I did a search and didn't see any specific answers on this...

So, per my other post in the new member section, I'm interested in a Tacoma. I'm not on a critical timeline but was thinking of getting one in the next week or two as my current ride is about to keel over.

I was thinking that in advance of the 2016s, maybe the pricing of 2015s might drop in the next few weeks? I noticed a few dealerships are proactively listing "discounts" on their site like this: http://www.toyotaofbellevue.com/sea...defined&features=&hwympg1=&hwympg2=&mileage2=

I talked to a dealer and he said that there's a chance that prices will stay truer to MSRP as these sell well. I get why a dealer would say that as he wants to get rid of current inventory.

    Thoughts?

Multiple threads on this already in 3rd gen section. I doubt you will see much difference than current OTD prices, perhaps a special APR but like you said and dealers know, even with the 2016 soon on the way they aren't hard to sell. Toyota keeps its high resale value because they don't mark down vehicles like domestics do. If your looking for more than $3k off MSRP you need to look GM, Chrysler, Ford.

Thanks usafwx, agreed, I'm not looking for a killer deal as much as just maximizing the opportunity to buy a new Tacoma. I didn't check 3rd generation forum and will do so now. thanks again!

Haha I think the 2016 pictures actually increase sales of the current model. I bought a 2015. Dealers here are advertising regularly $1500-2000 off msrp on 15 tacomas. Have been for months.

I got a discount off the MSRP when I bought my 2015 it wasn't much though can't recall the exact number.

But I think it will be based on supply and demand, I bought my truck within a month I brought it in just for the 1000km check-in and was wondering the lot to kill time. When I bought my truck a month prior they had at least 2 dozen 2015 Tacoma's now they had maybe 6 and most were the 2wd access cab. I asked the dealership if they were bringing anymore in and in their own words "we hope to but it's getting hard now that the 2016's are coming out and everyone is buying up the 2015's, we get our hands on a 4wd and its sold within a couple of days if not sooner".

I have noticed prices have gone up in the last few weeks.... 2015's are gonna be harder to find soon. I would get your NEW 2015 with what you want on it now
before they are gone.. just my thoughts.

Mark Miller Toyota in SLC, Utah still has (26) 2015s in varying configurations (Mostly V6 4x4s) and are averaging $2000 - $2300 below MSRP. Get 'em while they are hot, I guess.

I don't think so. A lot of people like the 2nd gen. Besides, we're probably going to see sticker prices of the new line well into the mid thirties. That's getting wayyyy up there in price for a mid size.

It'll depend on the market... but I wouldn't expect too much of a deal...

Not sure what state you are in. Dealer in iowa has 12 on the lot and has a sign that says 2500 off sticker right up front, before negotiations. Dan deery toyota cedar falls iowa

I got a Trucar quote from them. $2500 seems to be the going Trucar discount.

Check out Mike Erdman Toyota in FL, 5k off MSRP recently. Thats what pushed me to get a '15 now instead of later.

No clue, and not my problem. :) 5k is when the truck is one of the oldest on the lot, typical discounts are 3-4k

If you are a costco member, go to the web site and they have prenegotiated prices with a local toyota dealer. Pretty hard to beat, and worth your time and the 50 bucks to become a costco member if you are not one now.
