I'm looking to put this size on my 09 dcsb 4x4 base v6. I'm wondering if they will fit without rubbing as I have not put any lift in the truck. Further I'm think of t/a ko2's to use year around in snow and on pavement as well as for some off road (minor). Would this be a good tire or is there a better option?

Any experience with the size or tire listed?? Thoughts?

There are a ton of better options. Those wouldn't be in my top 5 honestly.
    Michelin ms2
    Michelin at2
    Hankook dynapro atm
    Cooper atp
    Bridgestone revo2
    ......

Not really interested in brand but size more. I've got just a few thousand miles left on my current set and am interested in this size. As far as brand, I had Cooper AT/3s in 265/75/16 on my prior Tacoma and loved em. Kinda scheming on them in the 235/85 size. Sub'd

Don't believe it will be a problem.
Same OD as a 265/75 but about 1-1/4" inch narrower.
265/75/16 fit my 08 stock base but rubbed just a little, used a heat gun to change shape of interfering knob.
The arch made in the wheel well by the narrower tire may not rub at all.

So excluding the Michelin ( because looks matter) which would be best in the snow?

I can only speak for the Hankook and the Cooper AT/3 but the Cooper impressed the hell outta me in snow. Two years ago in my prior Tacoma which was just a 2wd non TRD PreRunner, I was able to zip around my neighborhood with no issues. It had surprisingly little issues steep hills and fields covered in snow. Road noise is minimal to non existent and a very smooth ride. I'm absolutely getting the Coopers again and after seeing this thread, I'm gonna try the 235/85.

I suspect I'll have a set in a month or less, got a big cross country road trip coming up soon so I need some new shoes. I'll keep ya posted when I get em.

The KO's look good, I have them but will not run them for winters again! They don't clean out well in my opinion. My second set just got duratracs mounted on them for this winter.
I would think a narrower tire would also be better mpg and better in snow.

Definitely no KO's for me then.

I'm not knocking the KO's I've got like 50k on mine and they are still going strong. I rotate every 6 k. Don't off road much so I can't speak for them on that.

Shouldn't rub. I was going to run same sizero but went with 265/75 instead. All the reading I've done says those don't rub.

I was in the same boat as you. I knew the Michelin were superior but wanted the all terrain look. I went with dynapro atm's because I got a great deal on them. Have yet to install them though.
From what I hear the best AT tire in snow are the duratracs but I think they look too aggressive for me

No such thing as too aggressive in my book. I'll check out the duratracs!

Yeah but I need a tire that can get me through snow--I live in Northern Maine.

Yea I wouldn't recommend the KO's. Here are the 2 side by side.

Thanks! Are those your duratracs?? If so what did you think of them?

They have great reviews here. Do a quick search and you'll be decided as long as they have your size
