Anyone with a front bumper notice any movement in the hoops (if you have them) going over bumps or potholes? I can see the hoops moving a decent amount but all bolts are tight and if I try to move the bumper by hand, it seems solid? Haven't seen any cracks at the stock mounting points either.

The body and frame move independent of each other as the body is on rubber mounts. It's not the bumper you see moving, it's the body moving in relation to the bumper and frame

Can't speak from experience but it sounds like chassis vs cab deflection.

Edit: haha Colin beat me to it and explained it better.

Exactly why you want to leave at least 1/2" between the bumper and chassis

I left closer to 3/4 so I can get to my winch between the bumper and grille since my fat arms don't like the access holes much lol

I understand the cab v frame difference but whenever I focused on looking at the bumper going over bumps I could swear it was the bumper itself. Maybe an optical illusion like you guys pointed out...

If your bumper is bolted up solid I can guarantee it is the body flexing and not the bumper. The bumper is securely attached to the frame. The body sits on top of the frame and moves independently. Which is why you need to leave at least a 1/2" gap between the bumper and body.

As a heads up for anyone else looking at a similar setup, the aluminum bumper has a double layer of aluminum where the fairlead mounts and the factory hardware was just a little short.
Ended up using a 7/16 14 x 1-1/2 bolts to mount the fairlead to the bumper.

I just left out Warn's lock washers for the fairlead bolts, used a flat washer and Loctite 272

You should check out the Winch Saver for your hook if you don't plan on using a Factor55 flatlink or similar, keep that expensive synthetic line tucked away from the elements
