Ok, there seems to be tons of options now for lifting your Tacoma. I currently have a 2015,double cab , TRD sport 4x4 short bed and need some input on the best coilover lift kit under 1K$? I require 3 things - a full 3" lift, great ride on road, and under 1K$. Could anyone please help with best options? Thanks!

Go for a safe and respectable 2-2.5" and avoid the extra wear and tear on your components. OME kit w/ 884's. IMG_0747 (1).jpg

I wanted a better suspension more than I wanted a lift (though I also wanted a lift ) and have been really happy with my setup of OME's, 884's and dakars.

No need for UCA's and got a really good alignment. Dead centre or the acceptable range for each category.

I guess my biggest question would be is , what's the ride like with Billy's and 885's? I want a good ride on pavement .

What lift is on your truck? Looks tall to be a 2-2.5"?

    Looks good!
I'm currently looking at the 5100 billys, OME 885's with the trim packers to level the front driver side. I'm torn on AAL's vs blocks though?? I don't haul/tow much and want to retain a great ride- I've had the AAL's on my other Taco and it was a very rough ride! So I'm looking at a 1.5" block with the billy shocks in the rear as well.. No UCA's at this point-

Also, does anyone run the current setup I'm looking at? How does it ride? Are the 5100's strong enough for the occasional off-road trip to a hunting lease - I won't be rock crawling just mainly deep mud, and or dirt/mud trails?

Save up some more $ and get a good lift kit. Ome shocks up front with matching 884's (?), ome in the back and dakars. Blocks are going to give you axle wrap and not that great of a ride.

TW seemes obsessed with the billie shock/ ome spring combo :notsure: i was recommended by a shop not to do that because i would end up hating the stiff bumpy ride

OME kit with the AAL if you are really bent on saving some cash but sometimes you can even get it with the Dakars for just under a grand. Most people who go AAL will wind up junking it later and putting in new leaf packs. 1059. Little over a grand - call it a tank of gas.

Is this the kit you installed , on wheelers site it doesn't specify the amount of lift?

That's what I have. Nitro Chargers (not the sport - the original's are a softer ride and that's what I wanted) with 884 coils. They don't specify lift because truck configurations and cargo affect the results. in a double cab 884's give 2" and 885's give 2.5. You can pretty much tack on .5" for the lighter access cab trucks.
