Would you trade your taco for a 4Runner?

Im looking for a little advice... I've got a 2013 DCLB trd sport with about 60k km on in that I bought new... Only mods so far are stealth 6 rims and 265/70/17 duratracs... Last time I was in my local dealer I was chatting with a salesperson and they told me they had a 2012 limited 4Runner coming in... after some back and forth they told me they would take my truck on trade plus $8k for the 4Runner... The 4Runner is mint with about 25k more km's...

So would any of you trade a 2013 taco + $8k for a 2012 limited 4Runner? Seems like a good deal given that the 4Runner limited is probably $15k more then the taco originally.. Keep in mind these are canadian prices!! I love my truck but I never use it as a truck, so the extra comfort and increased cabin space / luxury of the 4Runner are kind of appealing...

Definitely no accidents, vehicle is a lease return... Purchased and serviced at my local dealer... Full service history was available, everything was done by the book right on time...

Dealerships don't just offer up good deals. There is likely a catch as to why they want to do the trade. If you're seriously considering it I would haggle with them and try to get an extended warranty to 120K on top of the $8K that they are offering. Also have another mechanic look it over and not one that works at the dealership.

I like the idea of the extended warranty... I didn't consider that as my taco just ran out of warranty anyway... This deal wasn't just offered up... We started casually chatting then negotiated for about an hour before we came up with the $8k difference... All I have to do know is sign on the dotted line...

I would, because the 4runner fits what I need a Tacoma for. If I could find a low mileage 2015/2014 for less than new I would.

    I wouldn't, but that's because I already have a 2012 4Runner limited.

If you don't need a truck and the deal doesn't have something shady hidden in it, I would say go for it. I like my 4runner almost as much as I like my Tacoma.

Please keep in mind these are canadian prices... You're damn lucky if you can get a limited 4Runner out the door for less then $55k new...

My wife's 4Runner is a beast. It's definitely a better ride than my Tacoma. I love my truck, but 4runners are nice machines.

The station wagon comment is funny coming from a guy driving a mid-size economy truck lol. :brianr:

You are going from a vehicle you bought new that you know how it was maintained and driven to a year older car with more miles(okay km's) that who know how it was driven or abused and you get to pay for this privilege? Unless you have beat the ever living daylight out of your truck, I'd keep it.

I have had much nicer(leather, heated seats, nav etc.) vehicles and while those things are nice, I have realized, I just don't need them.

I liked my '95 Runner even though the 3.0 was a dog. The newer gens are really nice, but they are getting pretty large and crazy priced.

If Uncle Sam wasn't so weird about the tax laws, my new company truck would have been a Runner Pro instead of a Taco Pro.....so I'd say go for it.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
I have both a 2009 Tacoma and a 2013 4Runner for my wife. They are both great vehicles. If you honestly don't need your truck and feel like your getting a good deal for your area I say do the trade.

For those that have both taco and 4Runner... Do you find the 4Runner more comfortable as a highway vehicle? I've also got two kids 9 and 6 and although they're not complaining they seem pretty squished in the back of the double cab taco... The back seat of the runner seems a bit bigger but I haven't had the chance yet to go to the dealer with the whole family...
