So the couple guys that run giants dd links, do you 100% recommend them? Or say build a non triangulated 3 link instead? I've been reading contradicting things on dezert rangers about them. I already talked to Geoff a few times but just not completely sold on bumps controlling the pinion change and would appreciate some solid advice

The ONLY reason I would run them is if you needed to for space reasons or to run you're stock tank, even then you can be creative to avoid it.

rondog, what does your bed cage look like? I don't feel like i lost any real useable bed space with mine and i have coils back there, i guess it kind of all depends on how its laid out. It might not be hard to chop a few tubes and gusset a few things and call it a day for what you'll be doing with it

what tyler said... landon and i both had the dd links come with our trucks, so we didn't really opt in against anything else. it works pretty good, mine has given me no real problems. he goes much faster and he ripped one of the mounts off the axle...also you have to keep the little shocks full with a ton of air (300+psi iirc)

with that said, we are both planning on adding an upper link to control pinion change, and leaving the bumps to act as a swaybar (which they do a pretty good job of). its just a matter of getting the right geometry

so to answer your question, i think they are pretty legit and i don't mind mine, but i would definitely benefit from adding an upper link. however, the price tag is kind of a lot... (edit: for the kit)

I'm building a truck right now utilizing a panhard and a single upper link. Uniball front links, gusseted 8.4, 12" king 2.5 piggy back ect. Getting a full tear down in 2 weeks.

my humble opinion, if youre going to link it, then link it correctly from the start. the dd link kit is solid from everything i have read, but it seems like an awkward middle ground to me, almost like building a bedcage but keeping your truck sprung over.

Thanks guys for the replies. I'm pretty set on doing a 3 link setup just cause I ride dirt scooters and like my bedspace, I've been playing with the idea of doing a 4 link with a fuel cell under the bed but not to fond of having a spare in the bed either, I just know if I do sua instead I'll regret it later

That's rocking a 3 link, with the frame kicked up and the bed floor raised several inches and a 32 gallon jeep speed cell. It's a pretty legit set up to be honest, I wanna do something similar. I bet you could do a smaller 22 gallon cell that isn't as tall and get it under the bed.

Looks legit! If I do a three link I am definitely keepin stock tank with a full size spare under the bed. That is the best setup for my needs

I used to build tons of offset 3 links on air bagged trucks. All tracked great. Functioned just like a symmetrical 3 link or triangulated 4 link. Roll center and all that good stuff is the same. Always wondered why I haven't seen it used on long travel trucks with guys trying to retain their stock gas tank. Definitely looking forward to seeing your attempt

Do it like Metcho's truck. DMC tacoma or something on here. 3 link and panhard with stock bed, bed cage, and cage.
