    Shit, I did?!?!??!

HA HA HA!! That's pretty funny

And to think that all this time I was sure I'd convinced you guys of how sweet and innocent I was :D

Hmmm, speaking of those vids, now I remember some other really splendid innocent pure things I said......no, screamed........during the vids...........

So you guys pretty much knew all along that I am not exactly an angel!! HA HA HA!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I hear what you're saying about the reward/once in a while thing, but I just can't. I quit for 2 months once, then tried to have one. Was back to daily smoking in no time. Ridiculous how addictive they are!!! At least for me...

Eating grapes has been the biggest helper so far during bad cravings. Keeps my hands and mouth busy, and no worries about weight gain from grapes! Plus they are yummy. :)

Time to make some frozen strawberry drinks now!! Eric's doing the Civic brakes. Thinking a little splash of tequila in there won't hurt anybody ;)

He got his CPAP this morning, so tonight will be his very first time using it. Kind of exciting really, in hopes of it making a big difference in the quality of his sleep

Thanks for the support TW peeps, you rock as always!!!

Congrats to you for quitting, and glad you are doing OK now!! Was the cancer related to smoking?

No it wasn't, but it scared the hell out of me...I had what Lance Armstrong had, back then the survival rate was around 30% and chemo was in its infancy, caught it early and I am still kicking pretty good, I also stay in shape like a freak..I still have one nut, so everything still operates properly...can't believe I just said that, oh well...

Ouch!! But you are right though, it's gross. No more. Cleaned the ashtray today and although I doubt there's any way to fully rid the truck of smoke smell, at least I will no longer be adding to it.

TW, I made it through another day smoke free!! Wasn't an easy one either!! But I did it. And we went out for some yummy mexican and margs, and movie time now!! : )

Didn't mean to get an "ouch" from you, more like a wistful smile. It's my dry sense of humor and emoticon-free style.

I wish you success in your quest.

I think smoking in my old '98 only would have improved the smell. Every time the wife got in the truck with me, she would comment on how bad I or the truck smelled. I always responded that I just can't get used to her cooking. I love it, it just doesn't love me.

Eric and I just woke up and read this over our morning coffee.

    :rofl::rofl:

Thanks for starting our day with a laugh buddy :D

By the way, now I have to ask, what was up with your funky '98 smell? I sense a good story maybe?

EDIT: Oops, that was a brain fart earlier when I asked the above question. Just pieced together "what was up with your funky '98 smell" :D

Yesterday afternoon was a toughy you guys.

Gorgeous weather, cold alcoholic beverages, Eric was working on the Civic (found some torn boots at front passenger tire while doing brakes, uh oh, more on that later), I was doing some cleaning/detailing to it, and every cig smoking neighbor was congregated at the house across from us, chaining them in the front yard. Which also happens to be the house that belongs to the folks that I had my little encounter with about their careless ways with their dog, which has never really been talked about or resolved since, so there's still this lovely awkward tension between us. Good times. Although, side note, I have NOT noticed the dog running in the street since then, so hopefully some good did come of that nasty little encounter.

Anyway. All that stuff created a setting that I normally would be smoking, smoking, smoking in. But I didn't. Guess I have more willpower than I give myself credit for!!

Today will likely be more toughies like that - planning to do some woodworking/farting around in the shed with various projects, beautiful day, I'm sure we'll crack some beers this afternoon, neighbors smoking all around us.........must......keep......willpower.........strong........and remember all the great reasons I am quitting.........

But each time I am successful in resisting the craving, I am so proud of myself and even more convinced that I'll be able to do it the next time one hits. So in that regard, I suppose it is kind of getting easier.

I am really glad I announced this on here now, because it's another motivator to succeed. Would hate to have to tell you guys I failed, and I've never lied to you so I wouldn't start now. You'll hear about it if I do.
But it's fun to be able to log on and brag about how I made it another day without smoking, so I'm not going to fail, I'm doing this!!!!!!!!!!!! :woot:

    Happy Sunday TW!!

Thank you so much for the support Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a nice post to see, thank you!! :)

    Are you an ex-smoker too?

Feels so good to call myself that - a NON smoker. I asked Eric last night how it feels to now be married to a NON smoker. I know the habit has always grossed him out. Another major plus of quitting - no more grossing my own husband out!! :D

Your husband is a non smoker? All the more reason to quit, he is a prince to have put up with it....if that is not enough reason to stop, then think of the health benefits, later on in life you will appreciate what you are going through now...I detest smoking now...38 years ago it was more of an accepted behavior...
