Just to give you some scope
, the gas shortages, and rising fuel cost in the mid-70's, the insurance industry levying surcharges on all high-powered models, and the epa is what killed the muscle cars..

I can pay the Insurance & gas cost. I just need the epa gutted.

Son, this is 'Murica. We like our races short and in straight lines, we don't need that import tuner sideways cor-ner-rang stuff here!

Yes, then we can have air quality like those living in Shanghai or Beijing. That would be great.

They see him trolling, he laughing.

Modern muscle kills 70s muscle in every way. Period. Technology marches on. 1000 HP mustangs are now available to the average guy. Not only that, now you'll live when you wrap it around a tree.

This. We've come a long way since the 70's as far as air quality is concerned. That didnt happen by accident. And Sterdog is right, there were some powerful high compression engines back in the day, but we're in a golden age for the internal combustion engine now. I for one love seeing engineering and technology progress.

We went through some lean times as far as Automobiles are concerned. The 70's and 80's for the most part sucked but now good things are happening.

What's going to really chap the diehard "60's and 70's cars are all that exist for performance vehicles" crowd's ass is when electrics start to take over. Electric vehicles have much much better acceleration and power to weight ratio's than gas engined cars. If you want true performance, hybrid or electric only powerplants will be the next big thing.

A hybrid Tacoma with a 1.4 L gas turbocharged engine, or similar Diesel, pushing out 200 ft lbs of torque to the front wheels with electric assist giving 300 ft lbs of torque to each rear wheel would be an amazing setup that could kill with excellent gas mileage and amazing performance off road. Not to mention the clearance gained with less drive train components underneath. I'd bet a truck like that could get 35 mpg easy combined, with the better mileage happening in the city! The cost on such a truck right now would be astronomical and the reliability would probably be meh. Technology will get there though.

2010 is holding you back because of parts eh?

Just installed a brake must have for my '92 while waiting for a test drive on the '16 dclb to confirm a purchase. You must be in a bind?

Don't be that guy. Everyone loves the classics, but lets have some respect for technological advances. I know BlueT is on vaca but no one asked for a replacement.
