I'm hitting a dealer next week. I'm either going to order a 16 (when the order banks open up) or try and get a killer deal on a 15. Looking for a truck to build up for overlanding. So the 15 might be a better option with all the readily available aftermarket stuff. I don't see why people are shocked he made a deal for money off MSRP on a pre-order. A lot of dealerships will do that unless it's a unique vehicle.

Well every dealership has their thing some make you feel special and "give" you a deal others just put that as the price. Also I called Toyota headquarters and they said the 15s would be the same price unless the dealers decide to give a deal.

I am excited to see the new Tacomas on the road. I like them, besides the huge grill, but it is growing on me.

It's been replaced with Barcelona red, a better looking red that brings depth to the color red and is metallic compared to the boring and faded looking radiant red :bored:

Barcelona red looks like a color that should be on an avalon, not a Tacoma. But to each his own.

It's ok lol. I didn't know they existed until like a month ago when I saw one on the lot and was like wtf is that? Lol. It's a very strange package I thought.

I'm not sure what you mean. The last vehicle I ordered I called around and told dealers I wanted to pay 500 over invoice and I got one to bite. Even on a truck people were paying 5000+ over msrp for ones on the lot. I've always shopped around and found vastly different deals.

If you had 15's on the lot with a redesigned 16 on the way wouldn't you reduce them before the 16's came in?

I love my 2014, but I may get a 2016. I don't know how much money I would have lost if I do this though. I had a door dent repaired on my 2014 and the paint match was good, but not perfect and that is what pushes me on a 2016. It's not noticable to anyone other than myself. I hope that the shocks from my 2014 would transfer over. I also might wait for a face lift to happen. I think the facelifts always look better and by that time more aftermarket parts will be avaliable.

Every dealer is different. The one I went to tried to sell me the 15 even though he knew I wanted the 16 and he offered to take around 1000 off where as I asked the other dealer that I called and he said well we can't do that. We lower the price almost 1000 off of msrp when we put it on our lot. It's like department stores always having sales. They raise the price then tell you oooooo it's a sale! All marketing pitches.

    No mods...yet
I would guess that once the 16's hit the floor, the only 15 you'll get, will have some miles on it.

Trucks are going into production sometime in august, won't take till November to get trucks into dealerships. The dealer I went too had the Canadian Order guide which was dated effective July 3,2015. So either he is lying to you or he is a complete idiot. I have a deposit down and was told late September or early October for delivery.

Perhaps he is, all I know is that he was more helpful than the first guy I spoke with. Regardless I plan on calling back in a few weeks and he claims that he put my name in the system to pop up when they become available to order in his system. He could be feeding me a line but oh well. I plan to call some other dealers to see what they say tomorrow.

They maybe trying to sell off their 2015 stock before the 2016's come out. Other people besides me have preordered on Tacomaworld.
    Good luck

Yea that is why I called. I am hoping someone will be able to do it for me. I really don't want to wait until November.

Neither do I, I think unless you preorder you may have trouble finding the exact truck that you want to get unless you make some compromises like colour, model, etc. Unless you want to wait.

Yup, since I have two places of residence, I have about 8 Toyota dealerships I can call within an hour to see if someone will accommodate me.

How can your pre order a truck that's not even out yet? Configurations, options, colors, price etc. are still largely unknown. They can't pre order anything yet. They basically took your 1k and plan to pre order once they actually can...

I think I would call what you did a pre-pre-order!

That is what I am thinking, but everyone is also giving me a different delivery estimate... I'm going to call a few more places and see what other answers I can get.
