    I also neglected to mention that I'm currently sporting 285 Nitto Trail Grapplers. I don't like them, so if it's necessary to size down to a 275, I'm willing (though I like the look of the 285s).

    I have a 200lb cap and usually carry about 200-250lbs of tools , with Dakars I have about 1 1/2" rake with 885's

    I see and agree with what you are saying, not all of it but will agree to disagree. As long as I can get my truck back into the factory specs and yes I made sure they are as close as they could get pre level/lifted. I jumped to conclusions and I will be the bigger man here and appologize. The whole point of my original post was not to de sit weather or not my truck was lifted it was to get more information on the installation of the rear 5100 I just installed. So if you could answer me that question I would be much obliged.

    Nope, not at all :rolleyes:

    So you bought an AP flip kit and took the factory bumps and drilled holes to align with the holes in the top plate, yep seen it and pretty budget friendly. The end result - you still have the lower shock mounts hanging down below the axle which are vulnerable to damage as well and now you have a 1/2" less up-travel due to the thickness of the flip plate.

    IMO you didn't accomplish anything and you lost travel

    You run a GoPro down there so you can see when you would have hit the factory bottom plates?

    If you truly use the flip kit, that's great. I was just pointing out that its a pointless mod unless you plan to do some serious rock crawling. Most don't yet will spend the money on it anyways because its trendy or it looks cool.

    Hate to interrupt a lovely talk...

    But I was wondering if I can get some advice.

    I currently run bilstein 5100s in the front with stock coils. I recently added a brute force fab hybrid front bumper and lost a little bit of my lift. To bring it back, I have heard of people running OME 887 coils with the 5100s. Will this make my ride rougher or worse in any way? I see that the 887s are 4Runner coils.

    I've seen several people run that set up. It seems to work fine. Some people have trouble with the shock bottoming out with the 887's though. Could try 886's as well, with the sway bar removed and a front bumper I don't think it would be too bad.

    I never said the factory set-up is better than the flip kit, I was just saying if you don't rock crawl its a pointless mod.

    So you include pics of you purposely going over a rock vs. going around it and one of you on a dirt trail that's smoother then most pavement roads. Also I can see in the pics that you have the factory setup with bolts that appear to be too long hanging below the bottom plate. These pics serves what purpose? You wanted to demonstrate that you use your $70 investment (whatever you paid). I say cool deal now show me where your axle is all scratched up near your new flip bolts and this is what you include??? The only reason I said include pics is because you stated you would have been hung up many times in Moab if it weren't for the flip kit.

    You don't have to prove anything to me man, my advise was given to someone that would likely never use them. Again if you use them, which now I'm really starting to question, then good for you the investment made in the kit went to a worthy cause.

    BTW have you gotten a rear diff guard yet for that rock crawling you do? How about skids of any kind?

    Happy trails whether they in include rocks or not.
