    I think the gears vary within the pre-taco generation of the v6 8", but I could be wrong. Do the Tacoma elockers come with 4.556s?

    I didn't know the width. Thanks!

    The stock gear ratio for the TRD models (with e-locker) is 4.10 and that is with 31" tires.

    I think he meant that you could throw gears from a pre-taco into a 8" 1st gen and it would fit.

    That's too bad! It certainly made setting the backlash a breeze.
    One thing's for sure, though. Once you get everything in and buttoned back up you're going to love the arb. Insta-lock is so nice!

    Some 4runner did. Even 4.88. Tacoma's are more rare I think.

    Use the same pinion and ring gear. Like swappable. And when you buy new ones they work.



    Arb better be freaking worth it. Sick of diff's not working. And considering I've never needed it..I better use it a lot and notice it..

    Can't complain on the deal I got for it though.

    It'll be different for you with a more capable rig than mine to begin with, but just having that magic button that gives instant traction is phenomenal. I've definitely used it at times where larger tires would've been a game changer, but I'm sure you'll find something to lift a wheel on! :D

    I use the locker a lot in the snow. It's nothing amazing, but it does make a difference in some situations. I notice it the most in situations where I would have to otherwise gain momentum and "bump" up a shelf.

    Nope not for me. Going to billing this weekend to get my sister.

    Yea maybe. Lander has a few spots I'd have tried it. But I haven't lifted a tire in a long time. Now with the front Lt who knows ha. But I'm sure I'll use it just to use it :p


    Yea probably the only thing I'd have noticed. But ever since I regeared I can really crawl overstuff .

    Oh well. I know at some point I'll need it! Especially when I go back to moab and rubi
