So my local Toyota dealer called me to set up my preorder.I had to pay $1000 to order. He showed me the attached spec sheet with options. The Premium and technology package is mandatory if you want a TRD Offroad. I was not interested in any of those options...way to rope me in toyota. I got a TRD Offroad DCSB Manual transmission in Barcelona Red. He asked the regional GM if Radiant red would be an option..it is not. I also asked if I could get the grill in the picture below. But that is only available on base models. So I had to preorder a fricken grill that is not a chrome abortion. Also I wanted the quickshifter and TRD Exaust. They are not available yet either. All in all Im not happy with toyotas management of it all. I dont blame the dealer. Its like the people who design shitty autozone accessories designed the truck. But I think I will be happy. It was just way easier to order last time.

Look at the 2016 TRD DCSB thread and you will see. I asked that mine NOT have that crap. Its the rim around the instrument panel and nav system. Looks like a prime option for a 20 year old girl or a man going through his mid life crisis trying to show hes still young and hip. WHY toyota WHY!!

Yeah, I've seen it I was just hoping that it wasn't so. One of the Canadians that has ordered said something about the colored interior pieces only coming with inferno trucks.

Nope in that spec sheet it comes with the gray truck. But in the Detroit autoshow it wasnt on there. Well if it happens it will be just one more thing for me to replace.

According to the Canadian order guide the SR5 models get Grey interior, the TRD Offroad gets Dark Grey interior but the Inferno gets the Orange/black interior. I don't know if the american specs are different.

I cant believe they havent released the fuel economy on a truck they are taking preorders on. It must be shitty. Otherwise they would be touting it as a selling point.

I'm still trying to distinguish between officially taking pre-orders, versus a dealer saying "Sure, I'll take your money now. And I'll put you right at the top of the unofficial pre-order list, since we can't actually order trucks yet." I'm not saying people aren't reserving spots and it might work out. But when you are "ordering" a car and you don't even know he MSRP or MPG, maybe this is just something dealers are doing to lock in some sales. Say it another way, maybe Tacoma HQ would say "We aren't pre-ordering anything. If your dealer takes some cash to put you at the front of the line, that's between the customer and the dealer."

With those power numbers I would at least hope they got the mpg as the ace in the hole...

My guy has all this stuff, but isn't going through any of the "pre-ordering bullshit" until Toyota loads it up on the computer. Past experience has taught him that documents change up to the moment it gets loaded, but the computer system is tied into manufacturing and inventory. It doesn't lie.

I can't wait until that first week of August. Then we'll really see.

I am assuming that the Premium and Techology Package only comes with the Off Road in your Region. In the West Region, those are options available for the Offroad, and we are getting 0 Off Roads in 4x4 with those packages. Have your dealer do some trading and get you one from a different region if you don't want those things

The Cheaper Premium Technology Package is 2400 dollars in the Double Cab!

Yea, that's why I asked about his location. It effects what people can get.
