Tonight, I noticed that when I start the engine, put it in Drive and release the emergency brake. The DRLs stay dim instead of brightening. My headlights work fine and my side marker lights work fine. But a few times I can leave my lights in the DRL position and turn the ignition off then on and they don't even come on after I start driving. There is only 30,000 on my truck and it's never done this. They have always been dim until I put it in gear then they become bright so just kind of confused on what to do. Help is greatly early appreciated!

One of the filaments could be burned out. Try replacing the bulbs and see what happens.

Alright. I'll try that tomorrow morning. That would cause both to not work correctly?

And I probably should point this out as well. I'm no expert so I could have caused this problem. I just recently replaced my side marker lights with 194 led bulbs. Could they be pulling too much power their way?

DRL's are designed to run at a reduced voltage and should never be as bright as your headlight's on hi beam.

Yea, true. but, I mean...they are pretty bright when on by themselves. And then dim when headlights are on. But now they are staying dim the whole time

You know you have a helluva good truck when you have to find something so silly "wrong" with it. Lots of folks like that here.
    Just drive the thing man!

Yea I know man! I run my DRLs from sunrise to sunset! I just don't want my love for LEDs to have caused this minor detail.

And my headlights are definitely brighter than my drls. This is just about the dimming of the drls

Yea I mean they dim down a little bit. Just like if I leave my drls in the on position and start the truck. They come on dim then brighten up once I start rolling

Maybe check the connections.. cause it seems like theres a power draw coming someplace.
Also do they dim again when you stop? cause like you jsut mentioned they get brighter when you start rolling, cause im guessing when you roll, obviously the Alternator charges too soo its providing more power to the lights
