The the 887s would be a good option. Assembled they provide a bit more preload over the 885s (coils are about 5-6mm taller) yet have the same spring rate so the ride should stay close to the same. I would NOT do the 886 coils, those are made for serious weight only and I wouldn't pair them with 5100 either.

You could also look into 1/2" top plate spacers, but the problem there is you will need to replace the studs which requires you to disassemble to coilovers and therefore you might as well just put the money towards new coils and sale the old ones.

    Thanks.

Yeah eventually I will replace the 5100s with a some better coil overs. I'm in school so it is a slow process adding things on. I put the 5100s. So that I would have a lift but new I would eventually replace them. Next up is new UCAs though.

In the meantime though I think I should get some coils. I think in the long run I will get a full OME suspension kit with dakars since I'm planning on getting a tire carrier for my rear bumper and I take it out as like an expedition camping rig so it's got a loaded bed a lot of the time.

Right now I have the 5100s all around with stock coils and that's it. I just ordered an AAL from all pro and their flip kit since I got some cheap timbren bumpstops from another member. This should level me out since right now I have the bro lean and hate it.

Thanks for your input. I'm between 887s and 885s.

Yeah your selection will come down to how much lift you want. If you have an Access Cab you will yield a bit more lift over the Double Cab 4x4s, just keep this in mind. I wouldn't assume there's very much difference weight wise and considering the added weight would be more in the center of the truck I can't see there being a big difference, but just thought I'd point this out.

Finally someone that has almost the exact setup that I have, and looking at springs too.

So you have a brute force bumper (I have a pelfreybilt shipping soon) and billys up front with an AAL in the back. Pretty much the same as me. I'm Icon AAL and billys up front. What notch are you at in the front with your billys up front? I'm at 1.75". With my AAL, I have about a 1.5" rake.

Trying to decide what I need as well to keep a very slight rake unloaded, so that when I gear up for camping, it will level out. I have been looking at 885 as well with my sliders, bumper, and future winch.

I'm at 2.5 which is why I have the lean right now. I have 33s so I need the clearance. Once I add the AAL, it should level out unloaded. Once I get the new rear bumper I will eventually do an all new leaf pack so that it will have a slight rake and level out when loaded up. Just can't afford it all at once unfortunately but I figured the timbrens and AAL will be important to have for my trip to Havasupai Point at the Grand Canyon as its a really bumpy fire road the whole way and my suspension bottoms out on the 405 freeway...

887 will give how much more lift than 885?

Ahhhh ok. SO you dont have the AAL yet, but will be installing it soon. I got ya. How much higher are you in the front with 2.5 and the bumper over the rear? Do you have the TSB pack?

887 coils are projected to provide 3" of lift on a stock 4x4 double cab with the 4.0 liter
885 coils are projected to provide 2.5" of lift on a stock 4x4 double cab with the 4.0 liter

Awesome. Will I get a worse ride from them than the 885s with the billies on? Right now I have stock. I assume it will be better than that

Installed my dakars 2 weeks ago but they are squeaking alot on the front bushing and was wondering if I was supposed to put some grease on them or what? I put the rear bushings in with white grease but didn't mess with the fronts because they were pre-installed.

    Yes sir
They've got the same spring rate as the 885's, they're just .5"'s longer. So no, you will not have a worse ride than the 885's. I'm running 887's with OME shocks and love the ride, honestly feels better than stock.

And I think you were s little late on your post my friend. Read before and we said we got it sorted out and I did reply back to OZ and appologized and did ask for his advice but he never got back to me. No feelings lost here you were just a little late to throw your .02 in. All I was saying before in other forums he always had a smart ass comment to other people. This is the first encounter personally with him and I did appologize. I get the point, he knows his stuff and will have to get used to his personality which is hard over written words. Therefore I did ask for his advice and didn't get s response and that is understandable if he doesn't want to give it to me. I'll let it be but I'm pretty sure we are all good now.

I like you at some point had the billy 5100 on oem coils set at 1.75 to get my truck leveled out. Hated to ride due to the coils being compressed. So I spent the extra change I should have in the first place and got the OME 884 and set my Billy's back to 0. In the end it gave me the same result with a bunch better ride. Like other ppl have said better than stock IMHO specially since I now have the 5100 on the rear. Drives like a dream. On your other goals I can't help you but I think you might be able to use the 5100 with the 885 but not with the 887's. To much height with the 887's. Best bet would do what I think has already been said and pair the 887's with the proper OME shocks and you will be happy with the ride. To me the ride quality of the OME spring rate is what it should feel like from factory depending on which package you buy or want.

But do you still have oem UCA's or aftermarket with your setup?

He did give me the advice I was looking for and it was helpful. Like he stated and I stated "if I do not plan on doing some serious rock crawling or off-roading then it would be a waiste of money for me". His advice saved me some money as of right now because the way some people put it you have to have the flip kit and he just stated that I didn't need unless what was stated earlier. If and when I do run out of mods and end up wanting the flip kit I may consider. But it's probably at the bottom of my list as of right now. And thanks again for letting me know about getting new u bolts. I wouldn't have know other wise, thought they were like any other reusable part/bolt.
