I followed a white 2nd access cab w/ Demello front bumper and some aftermarket rear bumper going up 515 from Canton to Gilmer County yesterday. Had a Tacomaworld sticker on the rear window, slick loooking truck with Fannin county tags. I was the guy in the silver 4wd access cab...

Nice looking rig man. I was born and raised in Gilmer County not too far from the Fannin line off big Creek / doublehead gap.

Live down Atlanta now but I'm usually in Ellijay most weekends on the motorcycle or fishing. You got any good trails up that way?

I saw the fly tag on the front. I'm assuming you trout fish?

Nah, not really any good trails. They closed everything that used to be fun.

Don't harass the trout nearly as much as I used too - the trout fishing around here has declined so much in the last decade. I still run off to Montana for a few weeks a year to chase them out there, but not so much around here anymore.

As far as trails, have you rode Charlies Creek up in Rabun County recently? The last time I tried it late last year it was so damn bad I couldn't make it through it, but I heard a rumor they've completely regraded it. Still haven't confirmed...

We rode tray mtn a few months ago. I had to get back home, but several in the group went to bell mtn. And talked about goin to Charlie's. I've never been through Charlie's.

We head out to Arkansas a couple times a year to fish the white. I love it out there. There are big fish here in Blue Ridge, but not like out there. Caught this one about a month ago. Nothin huge, but a good fish.

Damn good looking fish - I've floated the Taccoa several times and caught plenty of nice fish but after fishing out west it's hard to get motivated to go around here anymore. I'm sure going to Arkansas is exactly the same way. Old friend of mine makes an annual trip to the White - seen multiple 24"+ brown trout he's caught out there.

Hell we ought to load up some day and make a run to Charlie's Creek and check it out sometime, probably my favorite trail in Georgia.

Blah - the handful of times I've done it it was easy enough in a stock 4x4, but last time I tried it I found it so rutted out and deep I couldn't get through. I pissed around for half an hour trying to get up one section and finally gave up.

I LOVE the white. My favorite place in the world. But you're right. It's hard for me to go around here anymore. We've only been going for 3 years now. Never caught a real hog, but several 4-5 lb Browns, biggest was 7.25. We're looking to break into the double digits in a month or 2 when we go.

I'm up for Charlie's. Or anywhere we can go as long as I don't break shit. She's my DD and I'm building a house so I'm a broke fucker.

Well hell I should have hollered at you guys that are down that way. I might have To go back down to kennesaw after work next Monday evening. Maybe

Unreal. I've caught a few in the 18" range but those are incredible. Good to see it's still got a healthy population. I heard it went downhill after the dam repairs but I haven't been back to fish since then. What do you guys typically fish with?

It slowed down. The people that said it was so bad apparently just didn't know what they were doing. What has made it go downhill so much are all the people feeding them up and down the river.

We spin fish and fly fish. Whatever they're hitting. The only thing we don't throw is live bait (worms) or corn. All artificial.

We'll usually take both rods and see what's working better that day.
