Two sets of pliers on either side of the wire that holds it on and pull them apart.

 

Bolt cutters, cut off saw, oxyacetylene touch.

 

Ok cool. Thats easy enough. I will do that when i get home. i may have 2 pliers in my truck and should do that on my lunch break if it is that easy. Haha. Thanks again

 

Maybe overkill for an ammo box. But if the pliers dont work the i will bust out the dremel.

 

I have a bolt cutter under my seat, but not two pliers. But if you have 2 pliers that works too.

 

yeah but if i can use the pliers method then maybe i can put them back on if i every take off the ammo cans....

 

I also removed that piece on the handle. Much cleaner looking and still works fine without it banging around.

 

Also helps to have a nice cozy ammo can.

 

Nice. I was thinking about getting some of the foam insulator in a can (Great Stuff) and using it to layer the inside. I was thinking about making a cardboard box just smaller than the ammo can, then using the box to make a nice thin layer around the can. Tooth pics should hold it up off the bottom. Not sure how that will work out or how it will do when its wet...

 

If you want to go that route I would suggest going to the dollar store and getting some of that foam they use to layer your kitchen drawers with. Probably be a lot easier.

 

I attached my flashlight to the left front seat floor bolt using an $0.82 electrical conduit clasp dipped in plastidip.

 

Or closed cell foam. The best to use is the blue backpacking roll up kind. Cheap and 1001 uses.

 

What year is your truck? My 2015 rails are quite different than this. I picked up some 5/8" carriage bolts and cut one down and it doesn't fit into my channel. Going to get a 1/2" and see if that fits.

 

I actually used 3/8 carriage bolts to hold on my ammo cans and they worked just fine.

 

I want to get the great stuff and see if i can insulate one of the cans to see if i can make a cooler out of it. Not expecting it to keep ice for long, just a few hours while im at the skate park or digging/riding my dirt jumps.

 

After developing some neck issues I bent the stanchions on the head rests.

Bench vice, 1/2" box wrench, steel pipe from floor jack, already all owned, so free mod for me.



The angle is soooooo much better on the head rests!

 

Been thinking about trying something like this since the back of my hat rubs on the headrest.

 

Man that looks good. I need to pick up a couple from a local surplus store and do the same thing.
