Took a 8" round 3/8" thick plate and drilled holes to match the lug pattern for the spare and welded it on to the frame of the swing out. Worked like a charm and now I can ride with the spare on. Also welded in some 2x2 square supports between the plated sides and the frame plate. Now it's not flimsy anymore.

Been super busy lately!! Been building sliders and bed racks for others and got back to work after being off for 3 weeks for my baby. Now I'm finally back into the swing of things. Took the bumper completely off today and if I'm off work tomorrow then I will hopefully be able to grind off all of the rust that has accumulated on the bumper. Then finish weld everything and make it pretty. Then grind everything down smooth and hopefully be able to paint soon!!

Getting close! Just at the end now and that's when you the motivation seems to be lacking hahaha. I really don't have that much left to do though so it should be long before its all done!!

Looking forward to seeing it completed. I think I have said this before, but I really like what you did. The low key design. Seems like nothing over the top. Just enough to be functional.
    Nice work.

    Thanks buddy

I really appreciate the kind words man. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go. I think it'll look cleaner that way.

Okay finally was able to get 98 percent finished with this thing. Couple minor things need to be added but I'm pretty much done. I had the day off today and I grinded it smooth, gusseted the tire swing out arm where the tire mounts to, and painted the whole thing. Probably will add a few more coats of paint as well. Here's a few pictures, I will get pictures of it on my truck very soon. Truck is at the dealer today getting 30k maintanence done.

Think there's any more angles that I can't take a picture of this bumper from?? Haha

I spy lots of toys in that backyard. No wonder why it's been takin' so long.

Alright so I got home from work early and put the bumper on and it all worked out great. I added some door trim to the cut fenders for a factory look and I'm pleased with the way it all turned out. I am also relocating the back up camera close to where the hitch receiver is. 98% finished at this point. Very happy with it. Cost me about $185 to build and I'm pleased.

Probably gonna go full plate. My front bumper that I have on right now is kind of a hybrid that I made about a year ago. But since then my skills and tools have improved a little so I think I'll attempt it haha.
