Where did you get those numbers?

Every time I had something on a dino it was less then the factory stated HP due to friction and gearing.

and if you want to take to numbers and crunch it out dont forget the loosing both HP abd TQ in the trans, transfer, diff and bearings.
Also need to factor in the height of tires and rotational weight.

Toyota is a joke with the new Taco ricer, If this is what they're really trying to give to their customers. I just don't get them.

First it was "all new Tundra" with the same unchanged powertrain and stellar fuel mpg, that are only better than the lame old Titan. Same body panels - only re-stamped

Now the all new Tacoma" with 2nd rate power numbers that have hardly caught up to the Frontiers 2005 numbers, and again, the same body panels, only re-stamped.

Yet people still make excuses. Now the die hard kool-aid guys want to say, well yeah but just wait for the mpg numbers and then it will all be okay. Funny stuff. I'd bet the mpg will not surpass GMC's bad ass 3.6L, and we can see that they have nothing for their hp/torque.

Back to the drawing board Tacoma, and take the Tundra with you because you're about to get spanked with the new Frontier and Titan.

I jump over to the 3rd gen section every now and then to see whats otg. Just the same arguments everytime about how disappointing this new truck is.

And i think its true. Things hideous and could use more power.

I was never clueless. I don't plan on switching to a bitching GM v6, but you're sure as hell not going to catch me in "3rd gen". Most everyone who has a pickup uses the pickup for what its made for, towing, hauling, and of course, off roading. If you want mpg @swimmer , by god, go ahead and by the 3rd gen being it seems that's what its built for. But nothing is final till we see the full spec sheet including mpg. and as i said in original post, don't expect to be welcomed by some Tacoma owners when your riding around making the environment better. lol

Until official numbers are posted BY TOYOTA, what difference does it make?

One can never have too many light bars.
The New Tachometer on the 2016 pictures show it going red at 6000 RPM. That would mean the motor hits max HP right when it has the red on the tachometer. On 2nd Gen the tachometer shows red at 5500 but the motor hits max HP at 5200 RPM which gives it a little room. I know none of this is remotely scientific but don't manufactures usually leave a little more room on tachometers between max HP and where it shows red on the tachometer?
