Never. It does not look purple-ish to me at all. None of my friends have busted my balls over it, in fact, quite the opposite.

Everyday when I leave my truck, I turn and look at it and think "i love that color". And my wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law all love purple and not once have they ever said it looked purple.

Well, thanks - it's reassuring that so many of you are pleased with the BRM decision.
They really stand out, which will take some getting used to for me if I decide to pull the trigger on one.
I've always been more an 'earth-tone' guy. My daily driver for 10 years was an '83 shit-brown FJ-60 LandCruiser.
When I bought my Pyrite Taco last Fall, it felt like I was surrendering to my old drab preferences.

Love the BRM. I think that I'm going out in the garage and wax mine. Keep them coming.

You guys that are getting your BRMs finally delivered, can you tell me if your dealership ordered straight from Toyota and what date you ordered and what date it was delivered?

I talked with a dealer about 2 months ago, had him start trying to either order one or locate one at another dealership, and he's been sitting on my deposit all this time with no truck, no build date, no nothing, and it's starting to piss me off.

When I ordered mine they got it directly from Toyota since they didn't have one with my options and at the time the 2014's were just starting to hit the lots. Seems to me I was told 4 weeks but it actually took 6. To make it right they actually threw in a set of winter tires into the deal which I thought was more than fair.

Your note about the buyer's remorse made me laugh. Was your '13 really a disappointment? I suppose a v6 double cab TRD sport is a big upgrade from that.

My dealer ordered it from toyota....they said it would take 6 weeks but it arrived in 4. They were able to pull up a list of tacos that were planned for production and I selected one from the list, and made some minor additions which they performed at the port.

I was supposed to make a $500 deposit but never did. They put my name on it and held it until I could get there and close the deal but they knew they'd have no trouble selling a beautiful blue ribbon taco! So I had to act fast.

My dealer got mine from a dealership in Alabama, I am here in Tampa so they had to deliver it on a truck. I put the deposit down for it in May and the truck was delivered June 30th

BRM looks like a proper blue... the only blue I've seen bordering on purple is the Subaru "Plasma Blue Pearl" which was affectionately nicknamed "burple"... Truly a hideous color in my opinion and the ONLY color I wouldn't buy on an STI

Is there anything you guys could suggest to help me be able to get a 2015 before the factory stops making them?

I think part of it is that I'm wanting a DCLB Sport, which I believe is the rarest build Toyota makes, and BRM is supposedly the rarest color they use, so it's kind of a double whammy against me being able to get one, I guess.

But does the factory not do special orders (not custom builds, just requests for specific trucks that they already build)? Or are the dealers simply at the mercy of what some dude at Toyota decides to send down the assembly line?

I mean, I'm a guaranteed sale here, so I don't understand why in the world they can't build me a truck...

I just looked at the Toyota website and did an inventory search for the Kentucky region that includes Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee. There were 9 BRM DCLB listed there. All you need to do is enter different zip codes in the location box and see what's out there. Good luck.

    When I pu
purchased mine in December, here in California, the dealer offered to order me one. It was gonna be a good month wait or more, and I ended up settling for my dcsb. No regrets, I simply wanted my brm!
