So I was wrong to buy a vehicle with good, not great fuel economy, because it will keep my wife and child safer on the roads?

I cared about fuel economy. Which is why Toyota was at the bottom of my list when looking at 1/2 tons. The business I work at no longer runs any Tundra's in Canada due to their excessively high fuel consumption. I guess no one cars about mpg on trucks

She's getting groceries, going to get her nails done, visiting her grandparents on their deathbed, helping with some legal stuff we are sorting through on our property, taking the kid for a car ride to go to sleep, etc etc. Have you had a kid? Did your wife stay home? Ever heard about going stir crazy? She leaves the house at least once a day to avoid going nuts.

Hey Fucktard, like I said, I bought it because almost everything else in the area weighs over 5000 lbs and has high bumpers. It doesn't take a genius to figure out a Hyundai Sonata would be a death trap against anything like that on the highway.

Nope, a half ton is all she needs with it's higher bumpers, higher mass, and decent fuel economy. Best of all worlds.

    Go troll somewhere else.

I drive my 2009 Tacoma as a daily driver and because of my work as a carpenter it also doubles as a tool / lumber / materials carrier during the week and a firewood wagon on some weekends . I accept that a truck will have a lower mpg than a small car , however that doesn't mean I can't desire to have the best mpg possible in the class of vehicle that works for my situation , the whole " you should be happy with 10 mpg , it's a truck " is retarded .

If this is true, why do you even own a Tacoma? Why not just get a Tundra and get 15 mpg and not care? I can afford only one vehicle. I am the target demo of the "lifestyle" Tacoma. Single man, sub-35 years old, active mountain biker who pulls a SMALL camper etc. I know I am not going to get MPG of a Prius but having a mid-size truck with good MPG IS a thing that Tacoma owners care about. Look how many people here are concerned about MPG. SMH. According to your logic, I should just sell my Tacoma, get a Prius and not ever venture off on a Forest Serivce two-track road or ever pull my camper. lol

He does have a Tundra. He wraps his mouth around the tail pipe while his wife pours Diesel up his ass hole every night to get off.

I guess big rig drivers shouldn't care about MPG or fuel costs either. lol. "It's a big rig, who cares how much comes out of my paycheck to pull this freight." ROFL

It's capacity is 6800lb and that is only because the weight was decreased by 300 lbs. Even with a better engine and transmission, the truck will not tow more. If the Tacoma could to 8000 lbs it would eat into Tundra sales. Not to mention the deciding factor would most likely not be more torque but a stronger axle.

Because I live in New England where majority of backroads are super narrow and very wanding. Many places are super tight even for 2gen (hence why I liked 1gen better. ) many dirt roads, barns were build in age of horses and buggies. Full size is too tall too wide and way too long.
First Gen was perfect.... 2gen is ok , but anything bigger would be a pain in the ass to drive over here.
