Yeah I don't really flex. My truck sees dirt roads but doesn't crawl really. Mostly turning it into a camping rig!

They don't have a much higher spring rate than most performance coilovers (Icon, king, Etc). Most of those come with 650# spring rates so I don't know why they are so rough. What's your opinion on this? I'm going to run 884's up front and stock rear because I'm picking up a bruteforce hybrd.. It's just temporary until I get around to the rest of it. I was thinking of going to 886's when I upgrade and throw a winch in there. Do you think this would be too rough?

I've had both 884s and 886s with about 130lbs hanging off the front, +full skids & sliders and honestly I don't think there is a huge difference in ride quality. The only thing different with the truck on 886s in the big ass battery. 886s are stiff but IMO that's a good thing for the type of offroading I do (mostly rocks and not baja'n). I think some of the negative feedback on 886s come from people that install them and then go haul ass through the desert and expect it to feel like an LT setup.

I'm getting closer to putting my lift on. I got my assembly problems figured out. Coils and struts were assembled incorrectly. Since I am going to have them disassembled I am going to go ahead and get the 887's and sell my 885's.

One question I have is, should I do the front diff bushing while I'm putting the lift on? or should I wait to see if it's needed? I'm putting the lift on my '15 DCLB

Is there any advantage to putting on aftermarket UCA's with the 887s? I'm going for the do it once, do it right, don't do it again approach...

I would if I were you.

Do it then. Will help get alignment dialed in.

I ordered the UCA's with my 885's because I didn't want to have to do it again. I'd say the biggest advantage is they can get the alignment spot on. And I'd say, in my opinion, UCA's would be cheaper than having tires wear out prematurely.

    Yes sir
It'll allow you to get back into the proper alignment geometry. The OEM UCA's with a 3" lift won't give you very good alignment numbers.

Pretty sure most (FOX, KING, Radflo, SAW, ADS), with the exception of Icon, use the 600 lb spring rate coils, at least that's what I remember. For added weight most will switch out for the 650s.

Right so most people will run the OME 885s (590#) without any additional weight and switch to the 886s (660#) when they add extra weight. Same concept I guess. I just don't see people complaining about the coilovers with that spring rate but I do hear people complain about that spring rate with the OME.

Well I wouldn't really compare the two shocks (OME vs. FOX, King....) so that in itself might be why you hear less complaints. The design, materials used and valving of the shocks can all influence the quality of ride.

I'm planning to get 5100 and OME 885 in the front, 5112 in the rear with AAL... which will give me about 2.5-inches of lift. I'm not getting new UCA's, but probably will eventually. I should be able to get close to perfect alignment if I only go 2.5-inches.

Sorry I think we miss understood each other. The bumper weighs 95lbs and the winch is additional weight. So I guess the 887's are out?
