Got mine in the mail and will install sometime between tomorrow and Saturday. I read through the manual a few times, laid it all out, and I got it.

I kind of do this kind of work for a living, albeit, installing changes on USMC and USN Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE). So this shouldn't be un-doable by a long shot.

    My concerns:

Removing the Foot Rest. I gave it a few tugs and it ain't moving. The scuff plate comes off by hand pretty easy. So basically my big concern is breaking or scratching something during disassembly. Wiring, routing, connecting......no worries. Keeping my brand new truck scratch free most important.

Anybody who has done this have any last minute advice or tips? I think I've got a good attack plan and nothing in the directions that I don't understand but there is ALWAYS somebody that figures out a better or easier way to do something.

    Dead pedal just pulls off.

The kick panel has a plastic keeper at top with 3 holes at the top. Spin it left to loosen it and when it's loose the kick panel will pull up also.

I have not installed that kit, but I do remember reading the instructions which state that you may have to replace the foot-rest. To me that implies that it will be difficult removing it without breaking it.

    Good luck with the project.

Pull the dead pedal from the top towards you.

There are zero fasteners holding it to the floor.

Grab it from the top and pull towards you.

This is the plastic fastener you need to loosen to remove the kick panel. It also pulls off (after the fastener is loosened)

Thanks. I pulled the scuff plate, not with the intent of starting work but just a dry run and no problem but a couple tugs, from the top, on that foot rest and it felt tight. I'll give it a mighty tug later and see what happens. I didn't really want to remove it yet but rather at least feel that it was giving me a little movement.

Kick panel removed. The hole at left is where the fastener held it to the mount and the 2 pieces on the right help hold that side in place.
Remove the floor trim at the door before removing the kick panel, BTW.

Just pull on it and don't be timid. It is stiff because it's never been removed.

I literally took all these pics just now for you to show you. After these are removed there are 2 10mm bolts on either side of the lower dash and that will let the lower dash drop down.

This piece will need to be removed to drop the lower dash also. Just pull on it on the front to remove the tabs from their perch and wiggle it up and down while pulling towards you.

Here is what holds the dead pedal in. Nothing difficult.

Notice it took me less than 10 minutes to do all of this and take pics, send them here with a description. It's very simple.

Man I can't thank you enough for doing this. I'm going to try to do it in the morning weather permitting but probably end up doing it saturday if that doesn't work out. I'll report back obviously out of pride after I get the kit installed.

Way ahead of you. Bought my kit from exactly that place (I think based on another post of yours) and printed out the instructions in color. Only thing not in the kit is RTV sealant. Just a heads up for anyone else doing this. Most RTV's contain an acetic acid curing agent which is corrosive. If you get his kit, and follow the directions which say use RTV make sure the kind you have doesn't smell like vinegar. If it does get something else.

What do you need RTV for?

When you cut the nipple off the auxiliary grommet to route the wires into the cab it says to RTV the entry point.
